If anyone would like to join a charter flight tomorrow evening---a $308 seat (game ticket included) on a 90-minute round-trip flight to Wittenberg (twin engine, two pilots), leaving Holland at 5 p.m. and returning after the game, e-mail me.

Reffing is a huge part of the game and I don't think this board is chaulked full of reffing posts. As of late the complaining pretty much comes down to one call and it decided a team's season.Any call of that magnatude, either correct or incorrect, is obviously going to get discussed. I did whine about it right after the game as did most Calvin fans, but since then it seems like it has been good discussion. I rarely see posts on here that just flat out whine about officiating most of it seems to be done in moderation and it is usually in good arguements. No offense, but I'm surely not going to weight my posts based on what GS thinks or on what other boards spend their time posting on. I personally don't feel that when others talk or whine the officiating of the game that the board is weighed down by it.
"I started to look around at the fans and the team and I was sitting in the back, and I looked around and everybody was having a good time and that day, it truly made me realize what Michigan was about. It took me down, it humbled me. It taught me how to be a Michigan man instead of Jason Avant."

Can I be the first to complain about the complaints about complaining about the reffing? Or has that already been covered?  ::)

Let's see, I wish people would stop complaining that the complaints about complaining about complaints about reffing would....um...  Sorry, forgot what I was going to say.

The orange shirt is packed, shorts even, a second outfit for Saturday just in case  ;).  Packed the golf clubs......looks rainy on Saturday though >:(  Packed some NyQuil, DayQuil, Advil and selected vitamins and minerals.   Feel better tonight, food helps CivicMinded.  Packed birthday gift for neice, wouldn't be a good uncle if I didn't.  Lastly I packed my karma because the Dutchmen will need all the good vibes the orange clad faithful can bring them. ;D

My thoughts before I hit the road bright and early.......ish.

----Tremendous task ahead for the Dutchmen, I can't think of a single team hope faced this year with two big fellas like Wittenberg has...........maybe Albion with Way and Crawford but they aren't nearly as tall.

----Obviously there are many keys for Hope and most I would say center around the big guys in the paint.  But truthfully I think if Hope plays its defensive game they have a shot to win.......particularly if they're agressive on offense,  if they aren't agressive on O they'll need a phenomenal defensive effort.

----Hope needs the outside shots to fall for sure,  none of these hesitant pump fakes from the arc, to quote another Hope coach "Let it fly"

-----I expect a real grind it out Hope/Albion kind of game, brutal defense where every bucket comes with a price.  Would it shock anyone to see a score in the 50's?  But I'll say this........first one to 70 wins.

-----Finally, my prediciton, Hope plays a great game, sparked by an early flourish.  The second half become a real nip n tuck battle of wills.  Final  Hope 71 Wittenberg 65

Speaking of cards... anyone up for cards this weekend?  I can get atleast 4 or 5 players  if anyone is interested.   I'll bring the poker chips.   8)

I'd definitely be up for some cards after Friday's games, but have limited transportation since I am going on the bus Hope is bringing down. I should be around for a meeting at the first halftime, so if a game will be coming together, I'll just have to figure out a way to get there. I think I've only met FDF, Civic, and a couple others in person, so it'll be nice to match some more faces at the D3hoops committee meeting.
