just listened to glenn on whtc  he seems very confindent about the game tonight he said they will play well    all man to man dee

Damnit Glenn, listen to me, do you hear me!?   PLAY ZONE!

I will give him the benefit of the doubt because I haven't seen film this year, but from last year's team, I would 1-3-1 them all night and force them to move the ball and hit shots from either 3 or from the side.

Then to switch it up on them, go to 2-3 but start in the 1-3-1 set so they set up improperly.  Trap the wing, it won't be expected.  They'll never get it inside.

But Hope's guards are very good and they should be able to apply good pressure on the ball, which will HOPEfully speed up the pace of play, which is much more in Hope's favor.

Hope 78   Witt 76
MC 80   Trans  69

The score will be lower ane Witt by a couple.

Massey predicts:

Wittenberg over Hope, 59-54
MC over Transy, 70-66

Is there any reason to think the Witt-Hope game will be so much higher scoring than season averages? The old saw is that defense wins the tournament. I checked several playoff games and on average they are lower scoring than Massey's prediction. Hope's scoring has been 8 points per game lower than Massey's prediction for the first two NCAA games.

I suppose GVW could be secretly working on a "system"-conversion for Hope to get their score into the 70s against Witt...

Nice, but small, article.......

It may be a nice article, but facts are a bit off.

The Flying Dutchmen (28-2) play host Wittenberg (27-3) at 8 p.m. on Friday in the sectional semifinals. The Flying Dutch (29-1), winners of 26 consecutive games, face Washington-St. Louis (25-2) on Friday at 5 p.m. in Greencastle, Ind. The sectional is hosted by DePauw (Ind.)

Winners of 26 consecutive games?

Witt wins win the score is lower.  Good defense.

Look at the Wooster games Wooster won with high scores, Witt with lower.

In response to arena, the Flying DUTCH have indeed won 26 games in a row, including 20 in a row by double digits.  The Flying DUTCHMEN have won eight games in a row.

Nice to see video - maybe if I get home in time tonight I can actually pull up the game!

But, of course, with some of the discussions I've had with people over the past few weeks, I was under the assumption that the HPER didn't have the ability to broadcast video - what changed in the week that I have been away from Springfield??

I emailed Ryan Maurer at Witt and he told me that their network person was able to get everything together so that this Teamline company can serve it up for our viewing pleasure.

Kudos (and karma) for Ryan, the systems person, Teamline, and the whole Witt IT shop for getting it out to us.  I think you have to have broadband to view it because dialup can't have it.

It's great timing for me because my radiator is steaming and repair in time to leave is looking shaky.  Funny thing, I had it a the shop for fuel injection work but they didn't do anything to affect the fan that is not running they said.

We'll see what happens with the car, but it's good to know the web is there.

By the way, is there a way I could have transferred this message to this board from the Witt sectional board without cutting and posting.  I know we should try to minimize cross-posting but this was important for Hope fans to be aware of, I thought.

Hey, we're only 450 posts behind the #1 CCIW group!  Give us a good reffing controversy and we can produce that many posts in 6 days.  Go, refs!  Take charge of the game! ;)

Of course, getting as many people to read this board is another story...

arena :  I believe that the 26 consecutive wins refers to the women's team.

That's ok, we say it because we really wish that the men's team had won 26 straight...   ;D

That said, GO FLYING DUTCH!
