I apologize if this has been discussed bedore, but ever any discussion if Glenn stepped down of Brian Morehouse taking over the men's program? I have always been impressed with him & he has the women in position to go to the Final Four with another win.

I just said this on the Witt sectional board but I will throw it out here to show the Calvin faithful how objective I am. I want to be the first to start wondering out loud how good this Hope team would be if KVS or Brian Morehouse (Hope Women's coach) had been in charge of this talent all year. They do much more without a lot less talent each year. And I am now convinced they are far superior X's and O's coaches than GVW. Oh and they try this thing called in game adjustments.

GVW is a great guy and amazing recruiter but with the talent of the last 5 years the fact all Hope has is 2 NCAA appearances and one Sweet 16 appearance is embarassing.
I've been convinced all year Hope had enough talent to win it all.  Not sure if KVS would have taken this team further or not.  Pretty tough question to answer.  But he took Calvin a lot further than they had a right to go.  Hope fans will have to decide where this loss came from.

And it's a disappointing loss for Hope for sure.  I can't wait to hear from those who were there b/c the live scoreboard showed some really odd stats.  For example, VanSolkema with 10 points in four minutes!?  Can that be right?

And Hope seemed to go with their starters for too many minutes again.  Course Witt pretty much went with the iron 5 too.  Still Immink played 36, Cramer 36, Phillips 36, Marcus 30 and Voisin 35 (with no points and no rebounds).  Maybe more use of the bench would have paid off?  Kcrest wondered earlier this week if Hope could win it all without a post game.  Apparently the answer tonight was no.  A goosegg for Voisin?  Not good.

Tough, tough way to end the season ....

Hope out rebounded by 16.

To be perfectly honest, how were we in this game?

that's the worst part of this all. Despite embarassingly bad play in the first half of the game (just like at Albion) and being outrebounded Hope still only loses by 5!!! Witt wasn't that great. Very beatable tonight despite being a solid team.

Hope does bring back a lot of talent next year and I think with Cramer and VanderHeide likely being the 2 person focus on offense rather than the 5 headed beast this year we could see some amazing numbers put up by both guys. Should be exciting.

Not to mention Reimink, DVS, and Richardson... Just got to get past Caleb and the knights!!!

Looking forward to another great year. Don't know what I'll do in the mean time. I'm sure my wife will be happy to have me off DIIIHoops.Com  :D

Tough Loss, Hope--still a pretty good season--took three out of four from Calvin, won the tourney.  But has to hurt that they did not get further.

Hope will be back in the hunt next year

Hope had III goals. Only got I

Not sure aobut that. It is something I have always thought would be a great move for Morehouse and Hope though. That said I think the next coach will come from the current 11 assistants or however many there are.

Well that is one better than last year, if you assume that is what the shirt means.

I think I know why Hope lost.  Their shorts were too long.

Nice season, though, Hope.  Only 3 losses in this long season is pretty good, and a sweet 16 aint bad either.

I am headed out to mourn the loss with some IWU fans. We'll see if they get to celebrate a comeback (they are down 12 at the half) or will mourn with me.

To officially get the discussion going and ruffle some feathers. I look forward to defending myself this week.

One constant in the last 5 years. Hope has had equal or often far better talent than any team in the MIAA and only 2 NCAA appearances, with losses in the 2nd round in 2003 and now a loss in the Sweet 16. One constant (ok, two but we aren't counting Immink) is that GVW is the coach and the team consistently misses expectations.

DCHopenut,

You just hit the problem on the head - too many assistants = too many opinions
