Finally got in to see "The Dick". I'm sure the place takes on a completely different atmosphere when there are actually people there, as it was a bit quiet on Friday. But wow... very impressive. My tour guide did point out a few of the problem areas, typical of a building that was rushed to completion... I remember the new library took several years to get straightened up, with new carpet just a few years after the thing was built! I can't wait to actually come back during the season and see a game... Maybe next year!

I lost 2 Karma points for this? You guys are just plain CRAZY with your Smite Power!!! You probably drive red sports cars too... ;)

NW Hope Fan:  I didn't think yours warranted such.  But, yes, some of them have a tendency to get "out of hand" on occasion ;) ;D  I'll help you out a bit :)

Was there a boy's schedule posted?  ::)

Speaking of Calvin/Hope, I'm filing a discrimination lawsuit against the college for not allowing my fellow Wisconsinites to buy tickets to the Calvin/Hope regional final (after Calvin beat La Crosse), simply because they were from Wisconsin. :'(  Posters have told the general public that "if you get a chance to see a Calvin/Hope game, do it.  It's the greatest rivalry in college sports."  Well, I guess it helps if we're given the opportunity!  ;)

OK, maybe I deserved the smite for the crime of irony-without-smiley-face, but that was my joke.

I'm sorry to hear that you were denied the opportunity.  I guess that is what happens when there are too many rabid fans for each school - there aren't enough tickets for the "normal" fans!

I'm sure that both schools needed to make ticket allocations based on priority - those who are students, faculty/staff, and season ticket holders typically get priority.  Unfortunately, when the demand for tickets is so high, there aren't enough to go around.

Calvin women's 2006-07 varsity schedule is now up. Still looking for the girl's schedule.  ;)

The official NCAA attendance stats are out, and Hope lead the nation in attendance for the fourth year in a row, with an average home attendance of 2928 (up from 2462 a year ago - gotta love the DeVos).  IWU was second with 2470 and Calvin third with 2089.  Hope's average would have ranked them 4th in DII, and 169th in DI (meaning they out-drew 165 DI teams).

The MIAA once again lead the nation (for the 15th consecutive year) as a conference in DIII, with an average of 1234.  The CCIW was second at 866.  Pretty amazing that the MIAA has a nearly 400 per game attendance lead over the next place conference!!

Another amazing thing is that the Hope women averaged 1329, which would have placed them (versus the men) in 8th place in DIII,  and higher than 56 DI mens teams.  Given their awesome year and the national championship (and the DeVos), it will be interesting to see if that number goes up next year.

And as good as Albion is, and potentially could be each year, what would the lead be if they had a larger facility? Although I guess it is possible that the CCIW may have some small venues as well...

Good numbers FDF, thanks!

Mr. Ypsi

CCIW Chat has several times posted that the attendance figures are very suspect at several schools (including averaging all games, when some were counted as zero since no one took [or estimated] attendance).

Titan Q

We'll get another CCIW/MIAA matchup this coming season as Albion travels to IWU on Dec. 30...
