I have a feeling Wooster and Calvin will be squaring off in round one of the Mose Hole.

I think that Wooster sees themselves as the #1 with Calvin as the #2  Lax and Northern would be 3 and 4.  I think Wooster will take Northern in round one to get the regional game and hope to play Calvin on saturday.

UW-La Crosse is not a regional game for Calvin.

Not sure what other team you're referring to as the second one. Ohio Northern is in Ohio and is a regional game.

I was thinking Northern was just another Wisconsin team  ???

Sounds about right... Wisconsin <insert city here> Northern

doesn't it?

Last year, Wooster was the #1 team in the tournament and B-W was by far the #2 team.  The other 2 teams were Lycoming and Thiel.  Yet Wooster and B-W squared off in the 1st round.  And that was clearly the championship game of the tournament as B-W knocked off the Scots in double OT. It just came on Friday night as opposed to Saturday night.  Wooster went on to beat Thiel by 49 in the consolation game and B-W thumped Lycoming by 17 in the so-called championship game.

A kid who would have been a fine college point guard, maybe in the MIAA, won't get that chance. Jimmy Moceri from Macomb Dakota was in a car accident and will likely be paralyzed from the waist down. Anyone wanting to drop Jimmy a line wishing him encouragement:

Thought I'd chime in from the Perry Hotel in Petosky (sipping on an Oberon) and getting ready to celebrate Brian Eliisons big day tomorrow. Smokin Joe's in town along with quite a few other basketball alumns.  Petosky better beware......

Sure has been slow around here for a few days...

Any more late summer decisions by incoming basketball players? Any new recruiting news?

Who played in the Holland Summer Rec League? Hope went 5-2, while Calvin went 0-7... Did Calvin have two teams playing this year? Who was the team named Detroit?

Sorry... I'm a bit bored...

Summer rec ball - the only thing getting me through the duldrums (sp?).

They still have 2 more weeks to play.  There playing 2 "round robins".  Top 4 teams in one and the bottom 4 in another.  Hope is in the top four with a team of ex-Calvin guys (Prins, Winkle, Tubergan, Brad Sall, etc), another team of older guys (not sure who) and Detroit (a team of mostly ex-Hope guys - both Carlsons, Van Hekken, Klienheksel, Phillips, Voisin, Bauman, and occaisionally Travis DePree).  This team has been mowing over everyone.

The bottom 4 includes Calvin, Aquinas, Cornerstone, and ????  Only 1 team playing for Calvin.

April,

See that you are showing your face again...

My wife and I met a Wheaton grad at our church here in WA, and have become good friends w/ her and her boyfriend. You may have been there together, but possibly missed by a year or so. Sheree Anderson???

Hmm... I don't know... it does sound familiar... when did they graduate? I was actually just in WA last week... well all over the Pacific NW. I LOVE IT UP THERE!! I'm hiking on Rainier, and I run into two people from Wheaton who were either dating or siblings (:D) and they both knew me, and I recognized them, but couldn't remeber how I knew them.  :-[ One of them was like "April! You went to Wheaton, right? Weren't you the girl that got malaria 4 times when you were in Africa?" the other one was like, "yeah, and you were actually my Geology TA too", hehe. I love small liberal arts colleges.
