Nice idea but it would be far easier to get a ticket to the MSU and Pistons games and nearly impossible for the best of those 3 games. ;D

Either way, Hope will go 10 deep no problem (their second 5 could probably finish no less than 3rd in the league) and can even go 12 deep without losing much. GVW has endless options, but might have to get them figured out soon or endure a long non-conference portion of the schedule.

Hope had tremendous depth last year and GVW only used them in blowouts.  He shortened his bench in the close games that they had last year.

With a noticeable lack of D-3 participation and even short the max allowed games by 1, the bane of the MIAA (in-region emphasis) will hurt come selection time...WWKVSD????

I believe the NCAA has instituted a rule this year, that if your conference has a post season tournament, you must count the first game of your conference tournament as one of your alloted 25 games.  I believe this is why Ferris State is not on Calvin's schedule this year.

If so, that's news to me. That rule used to be the norm but was taken off the books a few years ago. I have seen zero evidence of it on other teams' schedules.

There is a rule, however, that if you play in one of those exhibition games against a D-I school then you can only play 24 regular season games.

"Joe"  Not that it means anything, but the military has used the term "standdown" for years.  The troops were ordered to "standdown".  The meaning is to go from a higher level of alert (or duty) to a lower level.

Really? Never knew that. I should change my sig then.

I suspect Hope will be picked #1 because GVW never casts his vote for Calvin and KVS always picks Hope as #1.

I suppose it could be true, but I guess I'll question how you know this... Or is this just sour grapes?

And if it is true... I guess you've answered the old question... "WWKVSD"  ;)

Oh yeah... and as my new duty, I'll have you out of the negative tomorrow.

I think it will look like this (first place votes)

1. Calvin (4)
2. Hope (3)
3. Albion
4. Kalamazoo
5. Alma
6. Tri-State
7. Adrian
8. Olivet (1)

sac, that is a great sig! :D  I like your pic of Crable over Quinn as well!!!  It'd be nice to get a picture similar to that with T.Smith in Quinn's position in a couple of weeks!

Shareef23

Scotsfan, you should the the pic this guy on gobluewolverine uses of Crable hitting Quinn. It's glorious!

I be sorta surprised is Calvin is voted number one.

I pretty sure GVW ran over my dog and KVS raised it back to health!  ;D

ScotsFan

Shareef, do you post on GoBlueWolverine?  I'm MichiganFanInOhio on that site as well as UMGoBlue.  The 18th can't get here soon enough!!!

Well it only took me a year to figure out how to put a picture in there. ???

Yeah, it sounds like I might have to max out the credit cards if I want to see that game.  I've resigned myself to the reality I'll be watching that one from my brothers couch in suburban Columbus.  Very tragic, I've only missed 2 of those games since 1984........1988 Freshman year at Hope, and 1996  Icy travel conditions.

I've gone to Columbus only  once knowing I had tickets, never paid more than $150........always worth it.

The picture of Quinn is actually the tackle where he comes up with about 5 lbs of sod on the helmet and doesn't seem to realize its there.  He looked pretty woozy after that.  Classsic pic, I wish it showed up bigger though its a keeper.

I have a similar pic of Greg Immink laying prone on the floor with a wide eyed freshman in the background with a look of disbelief on his face from last March too.  ;)          .......also a keeper.
