amidoingthis:  Obviously you have been sharing hair coloring chemicals with orangehaired girl. :)  You are welcome as new posters, but please take the time to read all the previous posts before going off half-cocked and making fools of yourselves.
Hawk'ster:  Calvin only hangs national championship  banners.  ;D The total is now 8, and Kalamazoo is second with 7.  :)  Not sure the rafters are strong enough to support all the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place banners Calvin has earned.
5 W's, and 9 L's for the opening weekend is a sad note for the MIAA.

Since the season is about to roll around again...I figured I would stop on over to DIII hoops to see what I missed all summer.
As a 1-season member of the Hope football team...it was unfortunate to see them draw Mt. Union for the playoffs. I saw it was 42-0 at the half, with the final score being 49-0. That was nice of them to let up in the 2nd half.
Great Michigan/Ohio State game as always. I was wearing my Biakabatuka 21 jersey with pride in Philly and NJ all day.
As far as the national championship goes....It will be OSU and either USC or Michigan.
Arkansas can't be in the running b/c they lost 57-14 or so to USC at the start of the season. This is simple as apple pie: USC wins over ND and UCLA they are IN. If they lose one game or the other...Mich/OSU re-match...neutral site! GO BLUE!
Hope everyone is doing well...GoHope...I'll see you at church on X-mas.

so, any of you care to chime in on the whole palming of the ball "point of emphasis"  that the NCAA has imposed this year?   I've noticed it watching the Spartans and noticed it yesterday in the Albion/JCU game (it was called 3-4 times).   Out of the 29 turnovers (yowsah  ???),  Kalamazoo had against North Park on Saturday, 8 were palming calls. I think it's great that the refs are looking for this call more often, but I hope this does not get carried away.

Stinger - was the last part in your quote, "Not get carried away" intentionally written that way when you talked about palming the ball?  Sorry, its been a long Monday, and it brought a smile to my face with the word selection!   :D

p.s. DotheDew - GREAT to hear from you!  See you later in the holidays!

Six days until THE GAME that never happens...

Keep an eye on Andrew Holms, I think he's the sleeper of the league this year.

Holms impressed me yesterday.  He's intense, and plays hard.  He was perfect from the field in the first half, but also had 5 turnovers in about 7 or 8 minutes of play. He gets ahead of himself sometimes. Holms will undoubtedly be scouted to take away his right hand.   He puts his head down and steamrolls to the hoop.

Sorry, can't take credit, but I'm glad you enjoyed it.  I didn't even notice the pun, but the topic is obviously on my mind.   Perhaps these early calls will force guards to make a few changes in how the handle the ball.

If Calvin put up NCAA 2nd place banners it'd look like they'd hung Buddhist prayer flags in the Fieldhouse.

If Calvin put up NCAA 2nd place banners for Men's Basketball, it would look like a window, as they have never had a 2nd place finish (2-0 in Title games).

Maybe not in men's hoops but plenty in other sports.  Hope is a little strange with the random banners.  Attendance Banner, come on.

Don't make fun of Attendance Banners or you might offend Cub fans. :D

Be safe! (Go Irish)

???  I did not know that about you,   hmmmm does this mean I shouldn't send anymore anti ND emails...........like I did a couple months ago  :-\   You took it well.  ;D

Man you get one little speeding ticket and you get labeled...........by the way I have a great story about a rural Ohio sheriff and my vist to a Bellefontaine, Ohio restaurant the day of the game 6 years ago.  Ask me about it sometime........maybe I just think its funny.

Hey, my alliegence to ND football and IU basketball (due to my Hoosier genetics) is minimal, at best.  No offense taken -- you may keep the e-mails coming.   :D

One little speeding ticket?  I thought there were a string of "one little speeding tickets!"   ;D  Perhaps you have been labeled incorrectly (or more likely, I'm remembering stories of speeding that did not involve tickets?).  At any rate, everybody has to have a label -- yours is "speedy." 8) :D ;)

Can't wait to hear this Bellefontaine story -- I'm sure it's terrific!

I've never seen an attendance banner in my 27 summers squandered fruitlessly spent in the Friendly Confines, so this is one Cubs fan who doesn't give a free Cubs Beanie Baby's tuchus about attendance banners.

Now, on the other hand, if you start making fun of banners with famous players' initials on them ...  ;)

A.  The only thing that currently offends Cubs fans is the Cubs themselves ::)
B.  I've spent (never squandered!) a good many days at Wrigley myself (including the day Elvis died -- it was weird), and I have only a vague recollection of attendance banners...
C.  Hey, those banners with initials bring tears to my eyes, so don't mess with those (but then again, remembering Harry Carey singing makes me wistful too)   :)
D.  Is it Friday yet!?!?!
