Before we start I'll point out that next week's #1 Wooster chose to play 4 of their 7 non-con games available against NAIA or "non D3" teams.

Just for the sake of accuracy, I'll point out that it's 4 of 9, not 4 of 7.  D3s: Cabrini, Mt. Union, Pomona-Pitzer, Ohio Nowhere, and either Calvin or UW-LaX; non-D3s: Walsh, Georgetown, Cedarville, and Cal Baptist.  :)

"We can, but such bashing has lost some of its charm. The Dutch have graduated to a full-length court.

However, secret Calvinist spies are already hard at work trying to find some flaw with the DeVos. (Any flaw. I hear there's a spot where the paint is already chipped. ;D)" Dark Knight

In the spirit of discussing DeVos I believe that is only appropriate that we focus on what matters. For your viewing pleasure.

DVS has been known to run his trap a lil bit.  I have never seen him go "Gary Payton" on anyone, however. In general, it's pretty harmless. The whining about calls bugs me more, but that seems to run in his family.  ;D
"I started to look around at the fans and the team and I was sitting in the back, and I looked around and everybody was having a good time and that day, it truly made me realize what Michigan was about. It took me down, it humbled me. It taught me how to be a Michigan man instead of Jason Avant."

they think he is going to play friday

He would like to play this weekend, and has been getting around well, but he may have to wait until the following weekend.  At any rate, he won't be down for long. :)

A little FYI for those heading to Wisconsin this weekend -- the Hope website has updated the times of the Saturday games (I'm not sure how recently, since I printed out my copy of the schedule eons ago).  This change was confirmed by WHTC this evening.  Saturday games are not at 6 & 8 as previously listed, but at 2 & 4.  Hope plays at 2.  Don't be late!  ;)  (This means you, Ken!   ;D )

Although Pomona-Pitzer doesn't know the names of the schools it plays, thankfully our voter info system does and our voters only were sent the two games for Hope.

The website for the Pee-Pees accurately states that they played Hope International last Friday, not Hope. Did they add the "International" after you notified them of their error, Pat?

DC, are you sure that Wooster is scheduled to play Pomona-Pitzer? Perhaps Coach Kats thinks he's scheduled your alma mater but is in fact going to play Worcester State or Worcester Polytech.  :D

FWIW--from the CCIW Pick 'em section, the only game up in the air seems to be Friday's contest between Wheaton and Calvin, which their prognosticators give to Calvin by a by a 7-6 count.  They overwhelmomgly pick Hope to beat Carthage (11 out of 13 chose Hope), and Hope to beat Wheaton (12-1), and unanimously picked Calvin over Carthage.  All of these picks came after the debacle at Knollcrest.

We CCIW types are not immune to being homers, but at the same time we have a pretty realistic grasp of where Wheaton and Carthage currently stand in the D3 universe. Although Wheaton was still a powerhouse when the cross-lake series was first played two years ago, and Carthage was only a year removed from a CCIW championship and two years removed from a Final Four trip, both of those CCIW teams have slid backwards since then. I don't think anyone really anticipated that that would happen. This year both Carthage and Wheaton show some promise, but both teams definitely have some holes as well. The picks on the CCIW pick'em page are as much a commentary upon the uncertainty surrounding Bill Harris's and Bosko Djurickovic's teams as they are a recognition of the remarkable slump-proof consistency of our tulip-loving friends across the inland sea.

Any "CCIW-types" (hint: Mr. Sager) out there who might give us a short intro into the Wheaton and Carthage teams  (i.e. who to look for, what to expect from the teams, type of condiments at Carthage, etc)???  Hard to get a real clear idea by skulking around the CCIW boards. . .

Looking at all the movement in this weeks top 25 poll it is hard to have any confidence in the accuracy.  Better to play a few more games to let things shake out abit.
Isn't it interesting that when a certain school or it's gym become the topic it is "bashing", but not when anyone else is the target. :D  If you can't take it you might want to consider dishing it out a bit less. :D ;D >:(

I was just looking at some of these local, non MIAA teams that have been playing against teams in our league.  Either they are improving vastly or we (as a league) are declining, or perhaps a bit of both.

Rochester beats Ablion by 13 and Adrian by 11.

Madonna beats Olivet by 4 at Olivet after Olivet  lost by 3 to Bald-Wally in Ohio. (Madonna also beat Rochester)

Alma beats Grace Bible by 2 in overtime.

Maybe Grace Bible is no longer a laughing matter Jimmy Booth is a solid player. They also have a freshman named Michael Jackson so leave your kids at home for this game. Possibly the most interesting player on  Grace Bibles roster is former Calvin standout Jeremy Burgin. He brought his 5 pts. 4 rbs. and 2 ass. a game over from Calvin to Grace. I guess maybe Grace Bible has different rules than Calvin and you're allowed to toke it up on campus with the coaches son? Nevermind that comment though, that was rude, being a nice Reformed Hope student I should realize that I'm sure Jeremy has moved on since then, but somtimes you need to laugh about the past.
