Cramer will also be holding the roll of "Secretary of Defense"

This is the position that was vacated by Greg Immink after he allowed Caleb Veldhouse to 'drop the bomb'.  Don't worry about Greg though, he landed on his feet and has evidently pursued a career in acting.

When is it that we get to stop hearing about "the bomb" and a certain graduated actor? The next time Calvin beats Hope???

For example, Bob Knight ...  throws chairs on the court. Is that what we teach kids???? The MIAA coaches should be examples for kids who come to games and those who play. They shouldn 't rant and rave like they are little Napoleans.

A MIAA coach did that many moons ago.

Partridge/Cramer '08.

Glaser and Woolpert can be in their cabinet. They can throw down too :)

Cramer will also be holding the roll of "Secretary of Defense"

Van Solkema, Vander Heide, Partridge, Wolfe, Osburn and Dykgraaf will all head the "Department of Immigration"

Long range planning will be conducted by Tyler Wolfe.

Brett Jager will handle "Department of Veteran Affairs" with a special emphasis on patience, Ryan Klein will assist.

"Department of Energy" will be held by Bria Ebels, this is a permanent appointment.

Department of Interior has been left vacant ;D

And best of all, Peter Huizenga gets to chair the Senate Appropriations Committee. ;)

GVW will be the Solicitor General.

Probably when they stop showing the Cal vs. Stanford play, the Willie Mays catch, the Franco Harris immaculate reception, and the Grant Hill to Christian Laettner play in the 1992 Regional Final.

GK -- It's all they've got to cling to at the moment, so expect to hear about it alot.   :D  Hopefully, we'll give them something else to talk about come Saturday (and hopefully, it will be something about how they got robbed, if all goes well!).   ;)

I was surprised to see Hope look as good as they did Saturday given their losses (this was the first game I finally made it to this year) so I suppose it's not surprising people are saying this was one of their better efforts so far. Playing Olivet was certainly part of it as well. One player I would have thought would be a definite contributer within the second 5 that was further down the bench was Woolpert. He seemed to be coming along nicely as a player last year, but he's still a ways down the bench. Is it just a matter of some of the other guys in the first 10 improving even more so?

Andersdy -- good to see you posting again!  I don't think you should be so surprised about Hope.  They've only had 2 losses, and those came against good teams early on in the season on the road.  They've had some shakey games, but have been able to put together a string of a few "start to finish" games as of late, and still have potential to spare.  They'll do just fine in the league.  Expect to see some fine basketball, as usual.

As Sac mentioned, this was only Woolpert's 2nd game with the team.  To play him any more at this point would be discrediting his teammates and the time they've already put in.  He'll get his turn, in good time.  This deep team just got even deeper...

For those of you who get a chance to watch Hope play, watch for Greenan.  When he gets a chance to see the floor, that boy can pass!  He should be great fun to watch in the future.  (He can also shoot the lights out, but I haven't seen him do that in a game setting for Hope yet -- can't wait for that, either.)

Veldhouse's was good but Winkle's was better.

2. Aaron Winkle
3. Bryan Foltice
4. Caleb Veldhouse

The only thing close to a Hope buzzer beater that I can remember came a half-second late in the January 2002 game at the Civic (1/19/02  specifically, I was at a satellite party in Ohio and have the cup from that on my desk to reference). I don't recall if it was for the win or simply a tie, but I recall Hope dropping a runner in the lane at the buzzer, but it was clearly late, there wasn't much debating that even without seeing a replay. I recall predicting that play alone might cause them to update their scoreboards and put tenths of a second on the clocks, however they didn't even choose to make that change when they moved to The Dick and got the new overhead scoreboards.

Isn't that because when we beat them, we really beat them, rather than relying on some last second luck shot  (oh come on, it's a little bit funny)  :D :D :D

Lately it seems like thats the case.

Andersdy----the tenths of a second are just below the 25 second shot clock above the backboards..........very NBA shiek.  We have had no reason to use them at DeVos.

Overbeek was the one who hit the shot late vs Calvin that didn't and shouldn't have counted, Hope really shouldn't have been in that game anyway.  The only other near miss was Gugino's layup after the buzzer the same year Hennink hit his long shot in Grand Rapids.  Both games came down to buzzer beaters.

Holstege's 4 points in 20 seconds vs Calvin in the 97 MIAA Championship game is as close as it gets even though Calvin had the last shot and 2 tips at the buzzer.

Or maybe can't win the close ones?  But that is neither here nor there.  I just hope we see a game closer to the "Veldhouse game" or the NCAA tournament game last year and not the "first rivalry game at the dick" last year or the "Select Bank at Knollcrest" game this year.  That is unless Calvin comes out on top. ;)
