Hope has had a number of tough games at Adrian recently...........here's since 2000

'00   Hope 64   Adrian 60
'01   Hope 71   Adrian 62
'02   Hope 80   Adrian 62
'03   Hope 64   Adrian 59
'04   Adrian 77   Hope 71
'05   Hope 67   Adrian 62
'06   Hope 79   Adrian 61

More than a couple of those games Hope faced a 2nd half deficit.  If I remember right the 05 game was quite an escape, as was the 01 game.

Thanks, bulldogalum.  That's exactly my point.

KS, your point is well-made, and well-taken.  I'm not saying this is THE championship game either, just that it should have a great atmosphere, being the collision of the two remaining unbeatens.  Before the MIAA kicked off, I predicted that Hope would drop two games during the season.  They could drop even more if they have an off day or two.  Then again, I also predicted Adrian would finish near the bottom, but that was before I knew about their mid-year acquisition of Desmond Young.  I could be wrong.  Time will tell.  And TSU and Calvin are definitely in the hunt.

Given all this talk about the atmosphere of the game and the level of interest at Adrian, does anyone have any idea about the availability of tickets to the game? Can they be purchased at the Hope box office, or if not, will there be some available at the door? I'd hate to make the drive only to find I can't get in.

In spite of this interest, I have never seen people turned away at an Adrian game before.  Usually, the biggest home game on the schedule is the annual battle with Siena Heights, and they really pack them in for that one, but I'm not sure that they've ever totally sold out.  I'd plan on getting there by 7 just to make sure, but I am about 95% sure you will be able to get in.

If Hope wins Wednesday then they win the league and go undefeated.  I know sounds fairly bold. but lets face it no one else seems really tough this year.  Albion, Kzoo and Olivet aren't exactly scary.  Their biggest road game after that may be Tri-State.  But that is only a prediction, I have been wrong before.

That is a bold prediction.  Hope will still have to beat it's archrival a third time (always tough to do, and remember that Calvin got about 20 points closer the second game than the first).  It is always easier for the losing team to improve and catch the winner than it is for the winner to improve even more, and stave off such a defeat.  There are still alot of league games left...

Indeed, quite a bold prediction, especially when you consider that the law of averages dictates that Hope will have to lose a game at DeVos eventually.

I have to agree with that. The league does seem to be down, as sac and others have amply demonstrated, but I am not sure that Hope has shown they're not a little down also. I had earlier been unhappy with their interior defense, but I thought they had improved that until Calvin rather exposed them again. Everything has to go pretty well for a team to go undefeated, especially with another game with Calvin on the horizon. If past experience is a guide, it seems that Calvin is a team that can gel and get on a roll. Hope's not a team that can have an off night and expect to win against the upper teams in the league - although what Hope does have is a number of weapons it can employ. I'd be surprised if any team in the league can match their depth.

One thing I was encouraged about on Saturday was that at the end of the game Cramer really seemed to want the ball in his hands. I think they are going to need a "go-to-guy" to step up at the end of games for them, and he's the best choice in my estimation.

Man, it's quiet in here!  :o

Do we really have nothing more to talk about? 8)  Or are we all just holding our collective breath to see what Hope, Adrain, and Calvin will do tonight? ???

I won't be making the trip into kzoo to see the Hornets host the Britons. Though from what I saw on Saturday, the Hornets do have what it takes to get a win here. Kzoo had it's chances to beat Tri-State and just needed to finish down the stretch. This Briton team is trying to gain some confidence. Silas had a solid game last time out, and I fear that he is going to build on that performance. I see this one coming down to the end and the Hornets winning.

The Adrian/Hope game should be interesting, but unfortunately, I dont see Buck's guys coming out on top.  I hope that I am wrong.

There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

I think the Kzoo/Albion game will be very telling -- wish I could see both that game and Hope at Adrian!  Although the vast majority of pickers chose Albion (including me), I think it will be a down to the wire event.  If I had the independence of gohope, I probably would have picked Kzoo! :)

Based on what I've seen from those teams, I would pick Albion over Kzoo.  However, the results in the league suggest a K victory.  I'll be really interested to see how this game goes.  I'll also be interested to see how Calvin responds from its second straight loss.

I'm not so sure it's that wild. I like K-zoo in this game. Unusual 7:30 tip-off for the Hope/K-zoo tilt on Saturday.

I hope there won't be any problems getting seats at Adrian today. Weather looks good enough, so the trip is on.
