They split a doubleheader with Despair and Pride.

Hope ran Despair out of the gym early. In the final game of the night, it was a 4OT thriller with Pride beating Hope on a buzzer beating game winning shot.

The Holland Sentinel has a great writeup on the two games.

Thanks for the answers on Alfieri.  It is hard to know what really happened looking at the stats the next day.  He looked like he could devlop into a very decent player based on just the Calvin game.  :)  Also curious to see how the 5 teams Tri State played without him (for the most part) will fare in the second round?
In the second Calvin/Hope game surprisingly IMHO Calvin came in much more relaxed than they have seemed in some other recent games.  Yes, Hope is the team to beat in the MIAA this year.  Guess they had already had their "deer in the headlights" experience in Nov. so used that knowledge to good advantage.  Yes, it is also true that Hope wasn't shooting their normal numbers especially early in that game.  :)  That is why I keep thinking if a team is going to conquer Mt. Hope it will take a great night for them, and a bad night for Hope. :)

Hey, does anyone know how Hope did last night?

With feathers, they were perched on the soul. They sang the song without the words, and never stopped at all.

LOL.  :) Every week when I update my top 25 database, as I read down the list and come to Hope, I involuntarily say to myself "Hope--the thing with feathers."  I'm glad to see I'm not alone.  ;D

However, a board member (The Angry Dwarf) brought up a great point dealing with "High Speed Internet" and the inflation of SAC's posting numbers and statistical acquisition for much of the information included in his posts. The Board came to a final decision, and  based on the era of "High Speed Internet", SAC had an unfair advantage over posters from the previous "Dial Up" era.
On to some other news

Ironically I'm now on a dial-up service, which is sort of like going from x-box to pong.  I hope the committee will reconsider my status after the season considering my new handicap. ;) .........and the computer is a glorified supped up Commador 64.

Anyone know where I can buy some floppy disks?

Who did she play for?  Could she go left?  Any Hops?  Did she date Old Knight?

She is, of course, one of the ten Kronemeyer sisters, seven of whom OldKnight dated "back in the day." The most literate and best-looking of the bunch, she held OK's attention for quite some time until she got run over by a carriage carrying immortality that would not kindly stop for her. Despondent, OldKnight immersed himself in Calvin basketball for many years until, rumor has it, after yet another loss to the Flying Dutchmen he withdrew from society and spent his evenings reading poetry and listening to Wagner's operas.

More of the same story for the knights tonight.  A really sloppy 1st half, horrible shooting, missed puppies, poor defense.  Turned it up in the second half, with Griffin hitting some threes along with a pretty nice in-the-air-scoop lay in off a Meckes miss.  Nice to see Koetsier get some non-garbage time and provide a spark.  Kzoo didn't play very deep and they looked tired in the 2nd half.

Caught a little of KVS on the postgame show and he seems at a loss in terms of getting the Knights to play with energy early. . .

Griffin's pretty nice in-the-air-scoop lay in off a Meckes miss was the best pretty nice in-the-air-scoop lay in off a Meckes miss ever in D-III.

This is true.  And I've seen a lot of Meckes misses in recent past.

As Meckes is averaging career highs in points, and shooting a nearly team leading 55% from the floor and 75% from the line.

I think they won.

Wow!  They won?  That must have been the best victory ever in the history of DIII basketball!

Balderdash! I hate opera.

P.S. She did have hops.
