Serious question... I know... apples and oranges...

How the heck does Hope beat TSU 101-57? And this happen today to Calvin?

Listening to the KVS post-game show.  KVS saying how he has real nice guys, but they're not passionate as of now.

Tri-State ends 7 game losing skid to Calvin today.

Dougie Fresh just said he's about to get some Hudsonville ice-cream from the Calvin locker-room because it tastes good whether you win or lose.  His wife's favorite kind is chocolate chip.

EDIT: Sounds like Tri-State's back-court just outplayed Calvin's backcourt throughout the whole game.  It's tough to play at Tri-State's place, but I guess it was a good game for Tri-State, and another bad game for Calvin.

I'm pretty much stunned by that score.  :o

I wouldn't have guessed that in a million years...........kudos to Harmon for picking up the pieces after Wed, must have been quite an effort from the Thunder on defense.

Good karma.  Assuming your question wasn't rhetorical.  Yes, apples and oranges to a point.   Hope is currently enjoying a great season.  The coaches, and the players are having a good time, and everything is clicking for them.  They (Hope) hold Tri State's B&B down in scoring, and B&B get 39 versus Calvin.  Are Hope's players just that much better.  Perhaps yes, but some of it has to be heart or chemistry.  I doubt any of the Calvin players is enjoying this season or likes loosing. but transferring individual desire, and intensity to a team is obviously difficult.  Success is contagious, and neither the Calvin team nor any of it's players have had much success recently.  As much as you, and I, and the coaches want them to be successful it won't happen until the players want it, and then make it happen.

Tri State 68

Benford and Brookins combine 39 points.  Calvin's guards shot 6-25.

Sounds like Tri-State's front-court just outplayed Calvin's frontcourt throughout the whole game.

HawK:  Having listened to the game I think that is a post from a fellow frustrated Calvin fan.  Read it as backcourt to backcourt.  In truth it should  read Tri-state simply outplayed Calvin all over the floor. :)

At least the Calvin women were able to handle Adrian 67-46 to keep pace with the Hope women. :)

I think you make a good point. This Calvin team doesn't seem to know what it takes to be successful, evidently, and are thus not playing loose or with confidence. Hope does, and their success is breeding more confidence and they are having more fun. Even more to the point, no one seems to be upset about the fact they aren't getting as many minutes as they might. DVS and Cramer in particular could grouse about this, or perhaps even guys like Partridge on the second team, but they don't.

Ahh Crap, I meant to say back-court, not front-court.  I meant back-court but wrote front-court for some reason.  ???

KVS said after the game that he thought Calvin had an advantage in the post because Tri-State was basically playing 4 guards.  He thought Post Guys were open but the guards were reluctant to pass them them the ball.  Hey, about we insist the ball go inside or you don't play.

This 3 guard lineup Calvin has used since league play began is not working in my opinion.  Our guards are very stagnant without the ball.

Josh Meckes 3-3 on 3pt FG's.  The rest of the team 2-16.

We have had a slow start in just about every league game except the Hope game, but we keep starting the same guys.  Insanity = doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.
