Actually I think he is about 68 inches   ;D

Yikes, at least give me credit for the full 6' (though it's 0" behind that). I was an inside force amongst the aging professors playing lunchtime hoops down in Wooster, but no my presence down there did not affect the varsity team beyond my pep band prowess. Last I heard, they have not yet started a recruiting process for drumming talent.

Big players playing facing the hoop and shooting 3's is not merely an ESPN concoction. Look at Rasheed Wallace.

You don't even need to look that far, is there a better example case than Eric Voison? Perhaps we should make that a new term, as in "what a 'Voison'" to refer to anyone who refuses to bang in the paint no matter how large a height advantage he has over everyone on the floor.

God bless you for saying that. I couldn't agree more.

They're getting rid of their golf course at Wooster?

Wooster does have a golf course on its campus...
Not for much longer.

:o I had not heard about that. What a shame if the decide to bulldoze such a fine.... yeah right, there's no way to be nostalgic for that pit. If it hadn't been free, I wouldn't have played it. If they end up demolishing it, I want to make a trip down and tear up the 3rd green myself.

They should give Wooster people playing privileges at Hawk's Nest, then, instead. That would be sweet.

Great idea. It was so frustrating to watch him play at times. I just wanted him to bruise like Don Overbeek would but Voison was either incapable or unwilling to use his height.
Tribes of primitve hunters, with rhinestone codpieces rampant, should build pyramids of Chevy engines covered in butterscotch syrup to exalt the diastolic, ineffable, scintillated and cacophonous salamander of truth which slimes and distracts from each and every orifice of your holy refrigerator.

Around 91 or 92 we played a tournament at Wooster.  The first day we played 18 at the college course which meant treking the same 9 holes twice, with different tee and pin locations the second time around.

The second day we played the Wooster Country Club, I don't remember much except that it was god awfull cold and miserable the first day, not as miserable but much colder the second day.  Play was delayed for the frost to thaw.  Such is life on a northern golf team in early April.

This was part of a consecutive weekend trip to Ohio, the week before we were at Muskingum College playing the Cambridge C. C. in Cambridge.  We managed to sneak a couple practice rounds at Ohio State's Scarlett course and Eagle Sticks in Zanesville on the way down.  Pretty fun trip.

I do remember that Ohio Wesleyan whipped everyone in both tourneys.

If you get to the Wooster area again, you should play Hawk's Nest, or go a little further east to Massillon and play The Legends - a nice muni course. Eagle Sticks is a pretty good track as well, although I liked Hawk's Nest a little better. Frankly, I think the weather is nicer in Western Michigan than it is in Northeast Ohio. I know it may scandalize some to think that.

A little over two hours to tip-off, and two months until tee off.

No, I'm hoping to take Sports Law next semester.  However, I hope to have a few interviews while I'm down there for summer internships.

Nice. I'm hoping to make a trip down to Hilton Head next weekend. We'll see.
