On Hoopsville, Tri-State coach Rob Harmon said that if his team wins the MIAA Tournament, the automatic bid was supposed to revert to the regular-season champ. No worries. I'm sure the MIAA wouldn't have let Tri-State in the tournament if they had to risk losing their automatic bid.

If so, that would render any conference tourney final between Hope and TSU pointless then wouldn't it?

An extra regional loss certainly wouldn't help in looking to get the best possible matchups out of the tournament committee (compare how far Woo and Witt went last year and why). I think I'm the only person to even speculate about the final being a matchup with Tri-State in the Pick 'Em however, partially to find a scenario in which I'd beat all the brackets with the presumed final matchup and partially because I'd rather not see Calvin's Hope-game-effort get to make another appearance.

What would be funny is if Hope lost before the tourney final and TSU advanced to play, let's say, Albion. Do you think DeVos might be filled with Hope fans cheering for the Thunder? :o

He probably shouldn't have cut his hair.

Regardless of his play, he should have kept the hair. He looks pretty strange without hair.

Speaking of which, does anyone else think that DVS with his hair buzzed off looks like he should be singing for Live?

Actually there are 4 pickers who have a TSU vs Hope final (and here's the shocking part - they're all Hope fans)

I think Calvin is the only team we fear. No disrespect intended to the other teams in the league, but I don't see Hope losing to them, not even an improved Albion team.

NB:  Frankly I think the use of the term more accurately reflects Cramer's selection as fan MVP.  Cramer didn't have an absolutely outstanding, dominating year like we have seen some MVP candidates have, but he was one of several deserving players on a team full of good players.   In Griffens case he is good, but never dominated any game when it really counted that I can recall.

If Calvin hadn't already beaten Hope @ the "Dick" I would be worried as a Hope fan, but given the present circumstance any worrying about playing Calvin is premature. :) If such a game should come to pass I am sure Calvin will give Hope everything they have, but it would not be realistic to expect another sub-par  Hope performance like  the 7th.

After last year's dominant performances by Brandon Crawford I think it was going to be tough for any player to mean as much to their team this year as Crawford did to Albion last year. He was amazing each game and he even managed to bring out the "big man" inside Voison for the game at the Dick (the one beautiful glimpse of what a 6'9" player should have done each game).

Nor do I expect Calvin to shoot like they did in the first 6 minutes of the game at the Dick.

I'm not sure how far back QoWI standings go, but I would be interested to know when was the last time the MIAA average was as low as it is.

Since this is the worst MIAA since qowi was instituted I'll reckin' its the lowest ever.

Calvin better not show up then if they don't shoot like they did the first 6 minutes that night huh.  Of course Calvin has go to get to the final game though first.  The semi-finals game will be tough.

Just about ready to go to the game now.   I just hope Calvin plays hard on defense the entire game, and that their offense looks organized out there.
