Well I will say more >:( The NCAA is incompetent! I am not sure who this may end up affecting (although I admit it is somewhat possible that Hope could have been the 19th pool C team if they were to lose tomorrow or Saturday) but you cannot make this large of an error and change tournament allocations 4 days before selection. Just ridiculous. The NCAA should be blown up and they should rebuild from scratch.

Honestly, did we expect anything less from the committee?  You know those commercials where the monkey's are running the office?  I think that is the selection committee.

You should have seen the good news coming once the NCAA started using different software for computing distance for in-region games. Knowing how happy ya'll were over the 200 mile rule . . .  ;) ::)

My question is why are there pool B bids anyway?  If you determine that a conference does not deserve an automatic bid, why save them a spot in the tournament.  If they don't get in automatically, make them get in at-large like everyone else.

Hey northb!  I've got bad news for you!   :D

The president of Hudsonville ice cream is a friend of ours.  When we told him that you had a bowl of ice cream as your sig pic, he said we should get in touch with you and he'd set you up with free ice cream.  Now it looks as if you'll have to ask KVS for handouts instead!   ;D

At the risk of stirring the pot, I'd like to recommend that we return the ww_d to Jesus, a far better role model than KVS (or CM or any other human) can be. 8)

Now ya tell me!

and

ok

Well done -- and thanks!  "+k" for you, for sure (we'll discuss ice cream later).   :D

Speaking of bad tournament memories,

Anyone remember a Freshman by the name of Eric Viney?  :-*

1999
Semi-Finals (at Calvin)
Albion 62, Hope 60
Defiance 75, Calvin 72

Championship (at Calvin)
Defiance 75, Albion 72 (ot)

The only MIAA Championship game that didn't involve Hope or Calvin, how many here can honestly say they were in attendance for that game? ;)

Oh yeah, I was at that Saturday afternoon game.  A very somber and empty Knollcrest Fieldhouse.  About as many fans in theat gym as there are Cosmos with a clean police record!

Are you freakin' kidding me!!!!!!

The kids I teach in Sunday school could do better than these jokers, and they're 3yr olds (you know, it's best to teach kids at your own mental level)

As Colligne suggested on the first page this raises numerous other questions. One I have is does the NCAA committee realize teams want to be number 1 in the regional rankings? I mean what if Wooster (currently 2) is actually considered the best team on the NCAA theory that "one is the loneliest number" ( I am still going to assume the NCAA understands that overall small numbers are better than big ones but who knows if they realize that either). I mean Wooster gets two because they are best but then won't be lonely? This is my new theory. Although I still can't explain JCU at 3. ???

I remember Eric Vinney, and that game.  FWIW that loss so motivated the 00 Knights they weren't going to be happy with anything less than a trip to the winners circle the next year.  I also remember that Adrian was Hope's persecuter in 04.  However, this is another year, and two completely different teams.  I don't see this years Hope team taking anyone lightly.   :)
Before anyone gets to quick to judge the NCAA for Pool B bids they should remember all those teams pay dues just like all the AQ eligible schools.

I have nothing against the Pool B teams. The issue is the NCAA's incompetence on this and many other issues and not making the correct calculations in October and just realizing their mistake 3 days before selections.

Exactly.  How many of us could pull off a blunder like this and remain employed?  And if this were the only stupid thing they'd done, well then okay.  But c'mon, we all know better.  There are lots of competent people in the world -- maybe the NCAA should check monster.com.   ;)
