I'm all kinds of excited for tomorrow's game. Assuming I get tickets. They really have to figure out a more efficient way of doing this. I think it is going to be a VERY close game, perhaps OT. The key for Hope is going to be keeping Griffen under control (I'd like to see Partridge spend some time on him) and keeping Meckes off the boards. Hope needs to use their superior bench to their advantage, and not let Veltema have open 3's again.

If Hope thinks the most important to do tomorrow is to concentrate on stopping Griffen then they need to put VanderHeide on Derek. After his hot first half against the Dutch early this month Marcus guarded Griffen in the second half and pretty much shut him down. VanderHeide is the closest thing the MIAA has to a lockdown defender.

Interesting. I haven't really thought of Marcus in that way - in part because it depends on how hard he is playing. Also don't remember that from the last game, but trust your memory on this. I hope, then, that GVW remembers this too.

Will Calvin v Hope IV be televised?

No, just radio which you can link to on Calvin's website.

You can also link to the Hope broadcast through Hope's website or www.miaa.org
Tribes of primitve hunters, with rhinestone codpieces rampant, should build pyramids of Chevy engines covered in butterscotch syrup to exalt the diastolic, ineffable, scintillated and cacophonous salamander of truth which slimes and distracts from each and every orifice of your holy refrigerator.

Suppose Calvin wins tomorrow, and further suppose (as I would) that Hope gets a Pool C bid.  Would we then have Calvin/Hope V in about the second or third round of the NCAAs?  Have any two teams met five times in one season in the modern era of college basketball?

If Calvin expects to win tomorrow they need Veldhouse to give better shooting perfomances than we've been seeing of late. In his last 4 games he's gone 3-15, 3-7, 3-15 and 6-19--a combined 15 for 56. That's pretty ugly.

I have to disagree. Meckes is the closest thing to a lockdown defender.

So......did anyone else find it hysterical they did blood pressure screenings at a basketball game?    :D

Will they take the 'closeness' of the game into account?! ;D

[Perhaps they should compare readings at a Calvin/Hope game vs. readings at any other game.]

Calvin and Tri-State

Well for awhile at least TSU made up for the obvious "offness" of Tony Benfords game, as soon as I saw a much larger wrist thingy and that he went with the Allen Iverson arm sleeve it wouldn't be too long before Calvin controlled.  I got to raise the roof for a couple minutes anyway.......right Civic Minded ;).  I think after the 11 point lead, Calvin pretty much dominated the game, it really was not as close as the score would lead you to believe.  TB made a go of it with 17 shot attempts but he was way off, as he's been the last 4 games.  TSU got quality play from a number of players, but as the game wore on, I think we knew they'd wear out.   Didn't help that Mo Brookins struggled tonight either.  The one and only reason it was close at the half was because Calvin shot the ball so poorly to start and dug a deep hole.

Calvin in the first 15 minutes looked much like they did in about half the games I saw them this year,.....uninterested.  Second half was much much better intensity, and of course Derek Griffen got hot........but lets face it, he was defended about as well as our Southern border.

In the end it was a game effort from the  Thunder, I was really impressed to see so many Thunder fans make the drive up to Holland.  You'd think one would own a computer and could find D3hoops.com .....but I digress. ;)

Ultimately it would have taken a great great game from TSU to beat  Calvin and they didn't get that  kind of night.
