Just listened to a little of Hoopsville:
They used Hope as an example of teams that should get in being on the bubble because of the selection process.  Points made include Hope being on the bubble because they did not have the quality wins against out-of-conference teams.  The MIAA being a lowered quality of conference this year, the wins they have in the conference do not speak as well for them.  They did emphasize that the selection process seems unfair in this way.  They mentioned that Hope had wins over Aquinas and Cornerstone, but that (of course) these do not count.

And now are talking about how the formula can have problems if other teams won't play you.

True, I am glad they are mentioning that fact but they have focused on CCIW teams, no mention of Hope.

Come on already! :) :-

Another reason why a tournament against NCAC or OAC would make sense.

I am not sure if anyone is listening to Hoopsville right now but they just went through a long discussion comparing Hope to Elmhurst and the general consensus was that although Hope would be in and Elmhurst likely out everyone felt Elmhurst deserved a bid more. There was some definite criticism of Hope's non-conference schedule and the fact they play so many teams that don't count in the regional rankings. Sound familiar????

And this is why you build throughout the season with a goal of winning the conference tournament.  Only way to get in with certainty.

Wonderful! How do we know this? Has the team been informed before the public?

Great news!  Two teams from the MIAA.  Play well Calvin and Hope.

Great news for Hope College!!! Can't wait to hear about the pairings tomorrow. I am sure that Hope will actually have a better first round draw than Calvin.
