My spies tell me Hope and Calvin will be splitting 1/3 of the seats.  Don't know how many the gym holds, but the 288 number may be about right.  Might want to encourage your school to televise it.  Was there two years ago to watch Calvin keep their undefeated record at Aurora unblemished and the place didn't feel very big to me.  I think the old Civic Center held more.  Say, didn't Calvin win at Aurora and then go all the way to Salem? ;)

Why do Hope and Calvin split a third? How many does Chicago get? More seasoned observers will probably know the answer to this, but it makes no sense to me. Split it in quarters, or give Aurora half and have the other three schools split the other half (which would come out to, um, 366.666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666666... seats each, which seems the number with which we are operating).

Well, if Chicago, Calvin, and Hope split 1/2 of the tickets 3 ways, each team would get 1/6.
1/6 (calvin's share)+1/6(hope's share) = 2/6 = 1/3. So you are suggesting that they change it to the same number. Hope logic!

Parenthesis added for clarification not multiplication.

Thus the tongue-in-cheek "um."
One Mississippi, Two Mississippi...

366?  That's great news!  20 more seats than Calvin was allotted this past weekend.   ;)

More like 20 more than Calvin couldn't even sell on Saturday.   ;)

Oh yeah, and I had a good time at the Hope women's game Saturday, its always fun to play home games at Calvin.  ;)

Steve Cramer's MVP marks the 25th time a Hope player has taken home the MVP award, he's the 19th different Hope player to do so.  He joins a nice list of the who's who of Hope basketball.

Steve has accumulated some pretty heady stats that when compared to other players stack up very positively.

I'll give a full rundown of his stats at the end of the season, but to me the most impressive is that Stephen has played in 111 of 111 games in his Hope career.  Thats pretty amazing, esp. when you consider Hopes history with injuries :D

(Sac is currently knocking on all the wood he can find in his office  ;D)

Didn't Cramer also get the injury plague and miss a whole season?

Nope, never missed a game in 4 years

The home team gets half the gym. If the students are indeed on break as I have read elsewhere, I bet Aurora does not sell out its allotment.

Oh yeah, and I had a good time at the Hope women's game Saturday, its always fun to play home games at Calvin.  ;)

I had a fun time at the men's game.  Boy the nets at the DeVos come down nice and easy.  Although it was a little chilly in there.  It seemed that as soon as the final buzzer sounded there was a stiff cold breeze like someone left the doors open, or maybe just a couple thousand people leaving.

I live only 30 miles from Hell (MI) - believe me, it froze over several weeks ago!

Jeff (the younger) had some significant injury issues.

I agree that Aurora doesn't seem terribly well tested. Certainly not as much as a CCIW team would be by this point. On the other hand, Calvin's results have been all over the board.

5 of Calvin's 9 losses have been to tougher teams than Aurora has played. Calvin also has two wins against Hope, a tougher team than Aurora has played -- and some bad losses.

Here's how Aurora's record stacks up against Calvin's:

Vs. Massey'sAuroraCalvin
Top 120-02-4

26..502-02-1
51..1002-10-0
101..2009-13-2
200+12-011-1

For the last 9 games, Calvin has been playing with a power of about 11.2, Aurora 7.1.

Any chance there will be general admission tickets left on Friday?  What time do they go on sale at Aurora for the general public?

AndersDY

Has anyone else filled out their Pick Em bracket and noticed that all the games are already highlighted/crossed-out as if the games have been played and the results are already known? Is that just to give an example of how the games will look as the results come in, or is there a glitch in the bracket?

I suppose I shouldn't complain, according to the marking up of my bracket, I nailed the champ and 3/4 for Salem, so perhaps that's a good sign.
