See p. 518.

(By the way, does anyone know of a quick way to get to a specific page? If not, we should have that capability.)

The WIAC board just indicated a split-session for Friday night, which would seem to go along with the earlier posts here indicating that tickets won't be a problem (except, that is, for our St. Louis friend).

Interesting that whoever did the write-up of Carroll says they are an uptempo team, and they have three players averaging over 29 minutes per game.  Looking at their two tournament wins,  4 starters played even more minutes:

Drury - 39 vs Auggie, 38 vs St. Thom
Ladwig - 38 vs Auggie, 38 vs St. Thom
Colomy - 37 vs Auggie, 22 vs St. Thom
Ligocki - 27 vs Auggie, 22 vs St. Thom

That's some significant minutes there, and I think Hope's depth would be a big plus for the Dutchmen.

I don't think it will.  They're used to it...they play Grinnell twice a year (usually!) lol.  ;) If anything, it might effect them the second night...and if we're talking about the 2nd night, then the Dutchmen don't have to worry about Carroll!  :-[

Re:  quick counts.

It's pretty simple and actually funny when it works.  If the shot clock is at 10, the opposing crowd will start counting down from, say, 7, to throw the player off and possibly rushing his shot.  When it works, the students think their geniuses.  ::)

dang monsoon, beat me to it  ;D

split session Friday,  from the UWSP website

Each game will be conducted as a separate session and the facility will be cleared in between games on Friday. All seats for the tournament are reserved.

I think I read Point's gym holds 2800......about the same as the Civic Center.

Except in this instance the Dew Crew did it to their own player. Wile E. Coyote: Super Genius.

Seating is about the same as the Civic Center, but I bet the floor is 4 feet longer.

Thanks for the info, but I do understand what a quick count is. I just wondered how the Hope Student Section did it to one of it's own players. I'll try to make my way back to that page...

Just started a separate board for the Stevens Point Sectional in Multi-Regional Topics...that way we won't have to be in 4 different places while discussing Hope - Carroll - Wash U - UWSP.

I wasn't there but if I'm remembering how it was told, Steve stole the ball and immediately heaved a half court shot thinking the clock was winding down because the students were counting down for the opposition.........only to see about 3 seconds left after his shot sailed out of bounds.

Probably not as much duct tape and staples holding the ceiling tiles up either..........or a bomb shelter.  Sound system and scoreboards probably work better also. ;D :D

I have to admit, I've liked all the pictures I've seen of the gym.......looks like a nice setting.

(highlight of the game: at the end of the first half, K-zoo has the ball, and the Dew Crew counts down 3 seconds ahead of the actual clock; Cramer steals the ball with about four seconds left, but believes there is only one second left and so heaves a 3/4 shot that misses everything, and goes out of bounds with 2.4 seconds remaining; he looks at the Dew Crew and says something to them and shakes his head. Priceless).

Found it, Thanks. Very funny stuff!
It's hard for me to believe that a missed dunk could be funnier then that. Of course I've been blocked by the rim a few times so maybe it's just me.

By the bottom of the rim? At the apex of your leap?

Things will, or should, be the same, as per the NCAA's policy:

Quote from: NCAA Men's Div III Basketball Championship Handbook, page 36Four-team Sites: Day One–Two games
1. Home team will receive one-half of available seating. The remaining half of available seating will be equally distributed in terms of number and location among the three visiting teams.
2. Each section should have its own clearly identifiable tickets (separate color than home supporters, other visiting supporters or walk-up tickets)
3. Visiting teams must notify the host institution in writing (via fax) of any of its ticket allotment it has not sold by:
• First- and second-round sites: Thursday, March 1, noon (local time of the host institution);
• Sectional sites: Thursday, March 8, noon (local time of the host institution);
• If the host is not notified by the visiting team by the prescribed times, the visiting team shall be financially accountable for its total ticket allotment.
4. The host institutions must notify the other visiting teams by 3 p.m. of that same day, of their opportunity to purchase additional tickets (the "returned" tickets must be equally distributed among the remaining teams, based on requests by the visiting teams).
Example 1:
Host Team A receives one-half of the available tickets. Visiting teams B, C, and D are given equal portions of the remaining tickets. Teams A, B and C use their entire allotment. Team D returns 300 tickets. If teams A, B and C want all the tickets they can get, then each will receive 100 additional tickets.
Example 2:
Host Team A receives one-half of the available tickets. Visiting teams B, C, and D are given equal portions of the remaining tickets. Teams A, B and C use their entire allotment. Team D returns 300 tickets. Teams A and B want all the tickets they can get, but team C requests only 50 additional tickets. Therefore, team C gets 50 of the 300 remaining tickets, and teams A and B are given equal portions of the remaining allotment (125 each).
5. The host must be notified by 3 p.m. (local time of the host) on the first day of competition of the additionally offered tickets that will not be used by the visiting teams.

Stevens Point Sectional Ticket Policy

So, how does it work if they consider all games separate?  50/50?  If they don't sell their allotment, are they given to the other school in that specific game or split among the other three teams, the other playing in the game and the teams in the other game?

THERE'S A NICE PICTURE OF THE INSIDE OF QUANDT GYM ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THIS SITE!

One side is bleachers all the way up (you'll see them from the picture) and the other side, where the benches are, is two levels.  One level of bleachers runs about 7 high, and then there are stairs to get to the upper level.  There are also bleachers on the ends behind each basket.  One section of those bleachers is where the pepband is...closest to the Pointer bench, which, in the picture taken, is the far end.  When you come into the gym, the concession stand is there, and that's right next to the guest bench.  2800 is about right, but it might be a little less for NCAA...2500 was reported on Saturday, and not sure if that was a sellout, I don't think it was since St. John's returned a bunch of tickets based on the size of their crowd.
