How convenient... Since I am going to be at the Final Four as well, perhaps I could meet up with GVW, and while he's down there he can drop off some cookies from me on behalf of the Wheaton program? :D :D :D
I'm sure he'd just love to do that for you, April. In fact, why don't you put the cookies in a blue-and-orange container so that GVW is guaranteed to tell the kid that the cookies are from a Wheaton alumna? :D
I was thinking that I could just make sugar cookies with iced blue and orange W's in the middle, but then I realized that he would probably just say that they stood for Wieren.  ::) :D ;)

Or Wilmington. Or "wins, which is what you'll be enjoying once you come to play for me at Hope."  :D

I was looking up information on NAIA rules, and ran across this. Smite me if you must, but the headline on the page was too good to keep to myself.

It is kind of funny how we complain about them splitting the gym this weekend because we were complaining a week ago because they were not clearing the gym! :( We shall never be happy!  I know I was not happy when I heard they were clearing it because I will be on the bus with all the hope students traveling down and I doubt that we will all be able to get tickets for everyone that is on the bus to the Stevens point  vs. Washington U. game so I doubt that I will be able to see those two teams play!  >:( That should be a good one to watch too!!!

Smite you, nothing!  That's +1 karma for you, sir.

New Massey ratings are out.

Hope moved up from #16 to #5, after Stevens Pt, Wooster, Miss Col, and LaCrosse. Hope is a 3.5-point favorite over Carroll.

Hope has the curious distinction of being near dead last in home court advantage, with an HA of -0.8. Fortunately for them, upcoming games are far from home.

Calvin ended the season at #23, which is quite amazing, considering that they spent the majority of the season at around #100.

With the two tourney wins against non-MIAA opponents, the MIAA moved up from #25-30 in the conference ranking to #14. The CCIW slipped to #2 behind the WIAC, which has 4 teams in the top 9. The CCIW has none in the top 10 but 7 of 8 teams in the top 87.

I'm still trying to figure out a way to see YOUR game vs. Carroll.  It's tough on everyone actually.  Clearing the gym is going to be a pain in the butt.  This way though, you guys potentially can get more fans over to Point, if that's an issue.

Several days ago oldknight reported that the religious broadcast "Words of Hope" was still on the radio when the Hope-Calvin game started, and implied that was a message on who would win the game.

Well, I just turned on the TV, and saw an ad for a movie premiering later this month.  The words, "LET HOPE REIGN" flashed across the screen!  Don't know if that was the name of the movie, but nevertheless a good omen for the Flying Dutchmen.

Mr. Ypsi

Ran across a passage in this week's New Yorker magazine - I immediately thought of The Rivalry!

"One Dutch researcher estimates that there are some five trillion spiders in the Netherlands alone, each of whom consumes about a tenth of a gram of meat a day.  Were their victims people instead of insects, they would need only three days to eat all sixteen and a half million Dutchmen."

Any Calvin posters want to get your Biology department working on this?! ;D

I saw a business card on my Boss's desk yesterday that said "Holland & Knight" on it. I thought that was a pretty sweet name for a law firm... but the real question is... do Mr. Holland and Mr. Knight get along? :D ;)

I don't see where anyone's complaining.

haha I guess it is just me because I am a poor poor college student and it means I am going to have to pay an extra 4.50 for that ticket if our bus is able to get enough tickets! :'( $$$$

Good Morning from Switzerland. Truly not a place the Dutch were intended to visit. Seriously, we went to McDonald's because it was the only place we could go for a free restroom and found out that it would cost $10 for a Big Mac meal!!! A good brewhouse is hard to find, nothing like Bavaria, ahhh I miss the Bavarian brews already :(

Sounds like it was a wonderful weekend of basketball and Aurora and that both Calvin and Hope represented the MIAA well. I also think that Hope winning big was bound to happen again. In both home losses Calvin played two of its better games of the year and Hope consistently shot itself in the foot and just didn't do the little things or play with the overall sense of urgency necessary to win. Everyone travel to Stevens Point and get the team to Salem so I can join you all at the Final Four!

Ah, Eddie, we will miss that whiny, high pitched voice of yours.
