Well, thanks everyone, glad to join you the last two nights.  Wife was out of town and got a chance to log on and actually post and not just read everyone's witty banter.

One of these times I will get to make the drive down from DC to Salem.  I guess we can try again next year.

Couple more shots go down inthe first half and this would have been a much different game.

Great year Dutchmen. We're all proud of you. Congratulations to WashU. 22-24 from the line. Hope 38% from the field, 23% from behind the arc. Hope had 10 more shots than WashU, but 13 less free throws. Sounds like it was a well-officiated game.

Can we get Al Gore to file a suit and demand a recount?

No - I'm serious about that. It sounded like it was pretty well done. Hope just didn't shoot well the past two nights. You can get away with it once, but not twice.

Didn't listen to the game last night either, so I didn't realize Hope didn't shoot well Friday night as well.

Must have been nice, not shooting well and still putting 89 points up on the board.

Hope was 6-31 (1-12 in the second half) from behind the arc last night. 5-22 tonight.

WashU did a good job controlling the tempo. 55 points for Hope - by far trheir season low.

If you want to see a recount, the MEAC and MAC championships had some crazy endings that in both cases the refs blew the clock management at the end.

In the MEAC, FAMU had 1.1 seconds when they inbounded the ball.  They tipped the ball in to win the game.  However, there should have been .6 seconds left (or something close to that).  They checked the tape to make sure the shot counted (there was never doubt) but never looked to see if the clock should have stopped.  Its unlikely Delaware State would have scored but miracles have happened.

In the MAC, Akron was shooting free throws with just over six seconds.  The rebound bounced around without any time coming off the clock allowing Miami to get up the court and hit a last second three.  Clearly there was no time on the clock as the ball went through the basket (if the clock started on time, it would have been close for a score).  Yet the refs (after about 10 minutes of looking at the monitor) put .6 seconds on the clock.  Akron inbounded out of bounds.  The clock ran out after the clock should have stopped.  The refs never checked the monitor to see if time should be left on the clock.  Leaving a baffling ending where Akron should have never had the inbound opportunity but if they were given it, there should have been more time for Miami to inbound with a crazy foul and heave situation still possible.

These two games ended within 15 minutes of each other during the Hope game (I was watching while listening) and in neither case were the refs even close to right.  Of course, the outcomes would have probably been the same but the calls were just simply baffling and wrong.

Nevertheless, Congrats to the Dutchmen on a good run.  Out to a late dinner with friends, so only heard a portion of the game.  But reading your posts was like packing an entire game's tension into 2 minutes.  Tough loss.
