Since the subtlety seems to be lost on all of you, I believe KnightSlappy spelled "Kramer" with a K due to the majority of posters (of all affiliations) somehow believing that Derek Griffin spells his last name G-R-I-F-F-E-N.

If this is an indication of how the off-seasons will go, we're all in for a long one.

Yes - the bold capital I in the name was very subtle, and I'm sure missed by all other posters other than you. And I'm sure I speak for all the other posters when I say that none of us caught the subtlety and wit of spelling Kramer with a K. We thought KS was ACTUALLY talking about the Seinfeld character. Duh - stupid us (sounds of hands slapping foreheads).

Frankly, I just enjoyed watching people dip into Seinfeld references.

Yeah Zigg... you were horribly subtle as well:

True about Kramer but I think Vander Hide and Van Solkemuh have the potential to step up in the crucial bucket situations.

FROM HERE ON OUT, FOREVER AND EVER, PLEASE REFER TO THE ROSTERS OF SCHOOLS BEFORE POSTING SOMETHING INCLUDING A NAME ON THIS BOARD! WE'D NEVER WANT TO DIS SOMEONE'S TRUE AND CORRECT NAME SPELLING.

There was no capital I, nor a Griffin reference anywhere in the Kramer post

I think that Hope will have a very hard time replacing Kramer next year.  It seemed like everytime they needed a big bucket, he was able to come up with a big one.  Not only will they have to replace Kramer, but also that deep bench that they had this year.

I dont have the stats with me because I am out of town, but I believe GriffIn dominated Cramer in the Reb/40 min category.

The Poster's Poll had Hope at 13. None of the voters there had Hope in the top 7.

The pollsters poll hasn't been completed yet, I'm working on mine right now.  You made the same mistake I did.............Chicago was ranked ahead of Hope, that clued me in. :D ;)

Until we know if Hope or Calvin get any impact fr. (or transfers)  it is going to be hard to predict possible MIAA results.  For the most part it is hard to argue with Sac's analysis, but you can flip Hope and Calvin as 1/2 and make a convincing case for either.  At first glance Hope has a few more holes to fill, and it will only take one or two (of this years) jv's stepping up for a solid team.  Calvin's jv team did real well this year, but not sure if that necessarily translates into a solid contribution from anyone for next season with the exception of Engelsma.  I really expect Olivet to be the surprise team of the MIAA next year if they can return a decent percentage of this years players.

I think Calvin needs to improve in the following areas:

Offensive movement - Calvin's offense was stagnant at times this year, this was especially true in the last game against Hope.  If you watched MSU against NC Sat. night MSU kept running backdoor cuts to receive a pass from the high post to help alleviate the overplay of NC's guards.  Calvin should do something similar to give their 3 point shooters room

Post Play -  Mantel, Engelsma, Katt, Schuster all should work on footwork in the post.  Find a good big man camp and work on fundamentals of getting the ball on the block and being productive with it.  Also, hit the weights.  Mantel could become dominant if he learns not to put the ball on the floor and how to pass out of the double teams.  Calvin doesn't need its big guys floating on the perimeter.  We've got other guys who can shoot.

A player like Tyler Zoerhof who is a wonderful athlete, must improve his indvidual skills.  He can only use his left hand and is not a great shooter.  He could really help his team and get himself more playing time if he could use both hands and just work on a 12-15 foot shooting range.

Veltema needs to get stronger and handle the ball better.  He needs to be able rebound if he is going top play the 3.

Veldhouse, Griffin, Smith all could use some improvement in ball handling.

Calvin was not a good passing team.

Work on competing for a full 40 minutes.
