you're right on the early speculation stuff, I'll wait until he's announced personally to rejoice, but I did just hear it from the most reliable source/contact/basketball friend I have as well.  He also told me that the younger puls is going to U-M as a walk-on.

talked to 2 very reliable sources today and they said this is pretty far from actually happening...

as for puls: i thought he's suited for D-2/high D3 ball...look at all the press K'len Morris got coming out of high school and he's buried on the bench. U-M talent-wise is a stretch for puls, but if mike godfredson and ryan dekuiper can do it...

Which brings up an interesting question: We all know about the pipeline from Div I to Div III (which seems to run through an unnamed lakeshore city), but aside from those mentioned above, how many kids have swum upstream from Div III to Div I?  Can you all remember others from the MIAA to do so? (I remember Godfredson, but what was DeKuiper's story?)

Looks like Calvin will be hosting a VERY interesting Tip-Off Tournament next year.  Ohio Northern and Washington U. coming in.

Calvin will also close out Knollcrest Fieldhouse against Hope on Feb. 23.

I wonder who's in the tournament in Montclair, NJ, on December 28 and 29?  Besides maybe Montclair State University?

Niiiiiiice, very enjoyable team to watch and should be pre-season #1 or very close to it.  They lost nobody to graduation this year.

Question is will Calvin make sure they get the in-region game and play ONU in round 1 or take their chaces and have ONU play WashU.

Christmas comes early to Hope College and next years roster.

Funny, I was driving by Bronners today and thought of this post for some odd reason.  I should probably have my brain checked. :P :-\

Wow ... visited that place 25 years ago, when we lived in Ypsilanti. Awesome.

Pat,

Amazingly, Bronner's is now exponentially more impressive (and, sometimes, oppressive) now than then.

According to the schedule on Calvin's web page, they are opening the tournament with Grace Bible again.   ::) :-\

I think they will actually be closing out Knollcrest Fieldhouse no earlier than March 1.

Is there a dance or something?

I guess Wash U isn't too concerned with the regional concept  -  all the way up to Western Michigan for potentially 2 great games, ONU and Calvin, and receive no in region credit.

On the other hand, I'm taking my wife out to dinner tonite with the start of my 8 month lobbying campaign to be allowed to go up to see the games   -  it's same weekend as our 35th anniversary...... ::) ::)
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

It could be a dance (I've got tickets for Calvin's Dance Guild :o :o :o at the Fine Arts Center tonight!!!).
But more likely, it's Dutch Bingo Night.  It draws quite the crowd. ;) ;) ;)
