Haven't posted here in a long long time.  I was still recovering from Calvin's lost to Hope in the NCAA tournament.  Just finally recovered just today.

I've been around Calvin's campus a little bit lately.  There is still a lot of confusion with the Spoelhoff places going up at Calvin.  People forget that they are two different people.

Sounds like Calvin's two recruits will start out on JV? I've seen Van Harn play quite a bit.  He could develop into a nice player by the time he graduates.

While I know this is the Men's board I just heard that Deanna Richard will be leaving OC to take a GLIAC Job in Pennsylvania.....Looks like OC gets to look for a second head Basketball Coach.

Wow - is this an indication of a bigger problem at OC?

I don't know/remember where Soderberg went, but a GLIAC job seems like an upgrade.  Don't need problems to take a better job.

I think someone posted on here Soderberg took a high school job in Wisconsin.   His home state.

I'm not sure there's much you can conclude from losing both coaches..........I agree completely the women's coach moving to the GLIAC is an upgrade.   Soderberg leaving to basically go back home is again a personal decision.  I haven't heard anything to make me believe either were forced away from Olivet.

If anything Olivet has made strides hiring good coaches the last few years, just a couple examples would be the baseball coach who was the former head coach at Michigan State, and the swimming coach who was an assistant at Hope and has won back to back MIAA Championships from what was a bottom of the pool program.

I doubt either was forced away from Olivet, but some things I have seen from attending games at OC leads me to believe that both coaches were more likely to be actively looking for other opportunities.  The current state of the school makes me think that the OC job is nothing more than a springboard to a coaches next endeavor.

How many times is she going to take her ball and go home? ::)

I think it's poor when she gets challenged she deletes everyone's posts.  If we have a different opinion she gets pissed off and leaves.

Some of us may have not agreed with April's post, but I think it actually started an interesting and worthwhile discussion about one of our favorite topics - karma.  Different opinions are what make this place interesting (and are really all we have to get us through the doldrums of summer).

Al is right on.  That may not be what a HOFer (or Pat) wants to hear, but then do we need to treat them any differently than any other poster?

There you go again with your silly notion that differing opinions make for interesting discussion.  If such was tolerated, how could the tight social hierarchy keep order?

You guys should be careful.  Saying such things can get you negative karma!
