I'm not sure of his suspension time either, but a former HS teammate of his told me today that he was "put in a position to come clean about his actions" which may have spared him the worst.  Not sure what he will bring to any other team- a generously listed 6'5 player who doesn't rebound, defend or handle the ball that well. If he is going to Hope, which all is saying, there will be a MAJOR changing of the roster this season on top of filling the 5 graduate spots.  Unless they suit up 18-20.

Any new names on MIAA campus', frosh, transfers?

2) He left Cornerstone after an alcohol related violation. I've been reliably informed that prior to enrollment at Hope, Snikkers was told he would have to serve the same suspension at Hope that he would have served if he stayed at CU. I'm not sure about the length of that suspension because I've heard everything from 10 games to a full year.

Should have known that, I believe thats a universally applied rule to prevent kids from avoiding punishment.

It would be hard for him to make this years team anyway, there should be plenty of roster space next season.

I would not expect to see or hear of any of the CU players going to Calvin.  According to all reports Calvin already had a waiting list of freshmen, and transfer applicants they could not accomodate.  CU's booze policy applies to all students, and reportedly they enforce it accross the board.  OK:  According to what I was able to learn from a brief conversation CU sets standards a player must meet in the classroom etc.  Listening to a disgruntled former atlethic scholarship player is probably no more reliable than listneing to most disgruntled former employees from any company. ;)

I believe Jimmy Strunk is enrolled at Calvin.  Per Facebook, so is Nathan Sytsma (Unity Christian) and Bryan VanHarn (GR Christian).

Ty Tanis is at Hope.

I don't know what other names to search for.  If anyone has more extensive lists of supposed recruits, please post them.

A semi-off-topic, kind of private and mostly irrelevent post, but important to a few of us none-the-less (please forgive me in advance):

To the guys in Germany -- e-mail us when you get settled in -- we miss you!   :)

Justin Vandemere from Hudsonville-all conference, wing, small 4 man, 6'3,ish
Bowser is from one of the midland schools- from what I understand, he plays like the kid from ludington whose name escapes me.
There is also a forward from North Carolina around 6'5-6'6.

Steve Kratz is from Ludington.

SBell

Shameless plug alert: Steve is one of a # of alumni of the Bankhoops.com All-State Minicamp playing in the MIAA. Two chances to see future players this year, Sept. 16 at The Cage in Swartz Creek; Sept. 22 at MVP Fieldhouse in GR.

Those listed as "Yes" are confirmed as enrolled.  The others, Vandermere and Bowser, I couldn't confirm as being at Hope.

Hard to follow.

Of those players listed, who is enrolled at Hope?  Who at Calvin?

Those are all Hope guys.

Calvin guys confirmed:

Strunk
Sytsma
VanHarn

I was told that Calvin has a big guy from Cali coming in, but I don't have a name or any other info like confirmation he made it.

vandemere, bowser, and carolina kid are all enrolled at hope and living in the "athlete" dorm.  There are others too, but their names were not recognizable or remembered by my "source".  WHAC news: A cornerstone parent told me yesterday that all naughty players were given the choice to serve thier suspensions and ALL chose to leave on their own.  Take that for what it's worth. Voorhees is begging/pleading to get back in the program, and John Visser from Davenport is not returning to school, period. Sorry to get off the MIAA trail, simply thought i'd share.

I was just told that another snikkers, Carrie, is enrolled at Hope as well. Didn't like Oakland at all and will play for the Dutch!
