Alma has their roster up

http://www.alma.edu/athletics/mbb/roster

An extremely young team with 3 juniors and a single senior.  I guess that's not surprising with a new coach.

I count 5 guys listed on both the varsity and JV rosters, 2 sets of brothers, and 3 players from the village of Gladwin, population 3001.

Their 3rd game of the year is vs Ferris State (good luck)

Tri-State's pre-season outlook is online.  No roster as of yet, though.

notes on transfers:
The preview mentions a transfer from Bellarmine, although he was not on the Bellarmine roster last season.

Brian Dutton played in 25 games, starting 11 for Olivet avg'd about 20 minutes per game and 5.1 points.

Ivan Danzy played in 21 games, starting 5 for Trinity Christian avg'd about 20 minutes per game and 5.0 points.

Olivet's roster

http://www.olivetcollege.edu/athletics/mbasketball/roster.php

2 "huge" things to note.

Olivet has both the McClary brothers from Bellaire, they both should make nice additions to Olivet's program.

No Andy Sierminski on the roster, maybe the most impressive Fr. (debatable for sure) from last year is not a Comet.

Another note:
Andre Collins-Riddle (from LCC) was a member of Lansing Everett's Class A state Championship team in 2004.

No Eric McCoy 6-8 from Charlotte, Mi either.

>>JCC Basketball

>>Well this is the first year that JCC has had a basketball team in 27 years and I am part of it. I played for Olivet last year, so i know what its all about but for the rest of the guys its like a deer in the head lights. We have been working out hard and having open gyms. I was announced one of the captains this weekend and i am proud of it. I think we should do alright but it is a big change from D-3 ball. Anyway our first game is Nov.7th.

So there you go...

The article does mention that Alfieri, a sophomore, is returning.

Looking at the roster, this is where the ghost of Dustin Miller continues to haunt Hope. 1) he should be a second-year varsity point guard right now and 2) there's only one varsity player from that class.

Can you give the backstory here?

that was a good one sac and flying  dutch fan
i love hope  sports all of them are really great to watch

Dustin Miller was an army brat who was the leading scorer of American high school kids in their European league when he was an 11th-grader in Italy. As a senior, for the 05-06 season, he moved in (into their garage, at least) with his grandparents in Marshall, because he wanted to play college basketball. He was the top senior playmaker at our camp that fall, had a good season for a middling Marshall team, and ended up at Hope, likely slated for varsity point guard minutes. He's still at Hope, maintaining his grades for law school, but hasn't played basketball.

if he wanted to play college basketball, was good enough to play college basketball, and is in college, then why is he not playing college basketball?

I think the answer to that question is simple - a student with a change in priorities
