Just to add to misinfo - D3Hoops front page has the game of the day being Wash U vs Calvin   -  I believe, unless there is a schedule change, that Wash U and ONU play, while calvin goes up against Grace christian.....
The only thing not to be liked in Florida is no D3 hoops!!!

Dark Knight

Today's Chimes has an article about the Knights this year, and it's got some interesting details about the inner workings of the team, the offensive plans for the year, etc.

Please, no comparisons with the sentinel -- remember that the Chimes is put out by volunteer students in their spare time.

C'mon, oldknight, Babbitt probably meant that Mantel's four boards a game was team high for a freshman.

Yeah, you're probably right. Getting the details properly nailed down isn't really that big of a deal is it? It's not like misleading details could actually lead a country to go to war, after all. ::) :-X
Excellent. Let's add another thing about which to argue. It's in our blood, you know. As Peter DeVries wrote: "On Sundays we went to church and in between services we sat around and engaged in doctrinal disputation, in which we became adept at a very early age. It was said about us, 'One Dutchman, a Christian, two Dutchmen, a congregation, three Dutchmen, heresy.' We accepted and even repeated this without any apologies or any suggestion that there was anything wrong with this religious pugnacity. We were the product of a schism, and we produced schisms."

I'm a big Peter DeVries fan, and I suspect he would find much about which to be amused in these pages.  The "rampidity" of the thin-skinned hordes is astonishing, he might say, tongue planted firmly in chic. :P :P :P :P ;)

DK:  Thanks for posting the link to the Chimes article.  Interesting reading. :)  The trick now is performing up to expectations.

At least we've finally reached the stage where the performance begins  :)

Good luck to all the MIAA teams tonight.  Here's hoping we have a better non-conference showing than last year.

Couldn't help notice that Adrian is listed as having one loss, meaning their game vs Oakland is being counted as a loss.

This just adds to the confusion, was it a game.....or wasn't it?

Live stats from Albion now....

http://www.albion.edu/sports/stats/xlive.htm

TSU getting trounced early by IWU.

Wow, I am surprised by that Tri-State score. I expected a lot more from them and less from IWU. Of course the game is not over yet. When a team shoots 60% from the field and from behind the arc in a half they are either on fire, in which case Tri-State may make a run or Tri-State forgot to practice defense in the pre-season.
Tribes of primitve hunters, with rhinestone codpieces rampant, should build pyramids of Chevy engines covered in butterscotch syrup to exalt the diastolic, ineffable, scintillated and cacophonous salamander of truth which slimes and distracts from each and every orifice of your holy refrigerator.

Wash U pulls away from ONU late to win 74-58, but they did lead throughout.  Quite a thrill to see Nading, Wallace and Ruths combine for 11-23 from the FT line.  Where was that last March? ::) ;)

Fully expect  Calvin to get a shot at #1 tommorrow afternoon.

Looks like I spoke to soon on Trine.  The Thunder have roared back to trail just 61-59 with a little over 10 minutes to go.

knights2000

Calvin up 57-43 at the half.

Mantel with 17 for Calvin, Veldhouse with 15 and Griffin with 14. Katt has 8 boards.

Jamieson leads Grace Bible with 16 after hitting a three at the buzzer.

It's weird, having to listen to every game on the radio this year.

knights2000

17 for Veldhouse, 20 for Griffin, 11 for Veltema, 13 for Engelsma, and 17 for Mantel.
