No trip to  Florida for me, and no golf for a very, very long time either. :(

Although I'm sure you'll enjoy your bball in the meantime, to survive a Michigan winter it is best to remove at least one of the 'very's. :P

Why, spring is just around the corner!  (What's that you say - winter doesn't even begin for another coupla weeks?  Nya, nya, nya - can't hear you!)

PicknRoll

I just happened upon a live stats link for K's game as I was browsing the miaa website...they are down 13 at halftime. The only stat of the game that stands out so far is that matt barnes for Northwood has 14 at halftime...he used to play for Alma didn't he?

Looks like a very interesting article on the front of d3hoops. I hope that I get a chance to read the entire article in espn magazine.

sac

Yes, its the same Mark Barnes who played at Alma.

No Henry McCain for the Hornets tonight?

PicknRoll

Hornets lose by 17. I don't think it was ever close.

I was wondering the same thing about McCain. Does anyone know why hes not playing? I hope not for disciplinary issues.

Stinger

I'm not really sure why Henry didn't play last night. I hadn't heard anything.  Based on the box score, the Hornets led 15-11 with 9:36 to go in the first half, then Northwood pulled off a 25-5  run.

Off to the Marian tourney.  Just win baby.

please just win. Maybe some smokin Joe magic will be revived at Marian.

It is really to bad that I am a poor college student because I would love to make it down to florida for a little basketball and a little sunshine!  ;D It appears that there is going to be some good teams down in Orlando next week!

Hope (7-1) #8
Defiance (5-3)
UW-Oshkosh (7-0) #13
Roanoke (4-1)
Elmhurst (3-1) #21
Tri-State (2-4)

I would say there should be some good games to be played!

Couple of thoughts about the game Saturday...

- Tyler Wolfe - an incredible game.  As he showed several times last year, when he gets hot it's almost nuclear.  At halftime, he had 4 points.  25 second into the second half, he gets pulled (according to his words in the Sentinel, because he blew his defensive assignment).  He sat on the bench until the 12:41 mark (Hope was down 40-44).  6:20  later, Hope had a 60-52 lead and Wolfe had scored 16 of those 20 points, and had the assist on one other basket.

In my opinion, TW is only incredible when he is making shots.....I cringe every time he tries to dribble penetrate a defense....T.O. city  (and I dont mean Terrell Owens.)

Big Reimink fan however...does all the little things (although I think someone already posted that!)

I don't think the stats would support your opinion.  Tyler has an assist/turnover ratio of 1.1 in 6 games this year.  Last season it was 1.3.  Most of those drives either end up with a score, an assist, or a trip to the FT line.  The one thing I think Hope needs to do is attack the basket, and Tyler does that.

For those of you traveling to Orlando, a directional note.  FDF and I were at the RDV Sportsplex last year to watch Albion play.  If memory serves us correctly, the google and/or other internet driving directions are slightly incorrect.  The last turn is listed as a left and should be a right (or the other way around, I don't have them in front of me right now).  We checked them again this year, and they still have that turn "wrong."  FDF did a satellite search to verify, and he's pretty sure about it.  So, FWIW, allow a little extra time in case some adjustments are needed.

Also, we used what appeared to be the "front" entrance, but this sends you on a wild goose chase to find the practice gym.  It is located more toward the back of the facility, and there's a much more accessible entrance there.

Good luck, and we'll see you in a few days! :)
