Eddie Stanky or Eddie Gaedel?
There are at least two feet of difference.
Wow - I never thought I would see a legit reference to Eddie Gaedel on posting up.  When I was a kid I must have read "Strange but True Baseball Stories" a hundred times.

+k for taking me down memory lane, goodknight

Needless to say, it was a short stroll. ;D

I'll have to get text-message updates as I won't be able to follow the game online. I am looking forward to being back in the bleachers for Saturday's game, however.

I went to a Landmark Conference game between CUA and Drew this past weekend. Suffice it to say that I haven't see an uglier display of shooting since the last time I played noon ball in the Dow. I'm hoping that wasn't typical.

You saw at least one pretty darn young team. I don't know anything about Drew.

But yes, there's a reason why the Mid-Atlantic region isn't represented in the Top 25.

Lebron better not transfer during the season and expect to play, that would really raise a ruckus on this board. ;D

That's true. CUA has 9 - that's right, 9 - freshmen on the varsity roster. They're big, too. If I remember right, 5 guys who were at least 6'8". I'm not sure that explains the bad shooting, however. The big guys I expect to develop, and there certainly was a lot of potential that I saw.

I think LeBron's recent speeding problems (101 in a 65 zone) would make him even more appealing to sac. Someone to keep the police distracted.

Don't be so quick to judge LeBron, he put in a not-guilty plea.  Let the justice system do its work.  I'm sure this is all just a big misunderstanding.

Strength of schedule

The latest look at Massey's strength of schedule for the MIAA

Albion #21
TSU #22
Hope #43
Kzoo #51
Calvin #65
Olivet #122
Adrian #179
Alma #199

If anything's obvious its that the top 5 in the league have been pretty well tested, it suggests to me that you really can't judge these teams by their records very well.

I find Kzoo's schedule especially interesting, they played 4 NCAA D3's in their first 6 games, 3 of them are potential NCAA tournament teams and 2 potential conference winners (Defiance, Wheaton).  Then 2 D2's in GVSU and Northwood.  Kzoo's only lost 1 game that might be considered a bad loss, IU-Southeast and I admittedly know nothing about them.

Kzoo's tested and has won 5 games in a row to build some confidence.  First time in awhile Hope and Kzoo have met with both on good winning streaks  Kzoo 5, Hope 4.  If Hope doesn't take Kzoo seriously they'll find themselves on the losing end tommorrow night.

Would appreciate a summary of the Hope/Kazoo JV game if any of you regulars are planning on attending. Can't make the  3 hour trip for the midweek games :'(.        Who plays well, surprises, etc...    Thanks

Should be a solid game tonight between Hope and a significantly improved Kzoo squad. I suspect Kzoo's win streak will come to a halt tonight but it should be a close game.

I did not realize that the MIAA board has now (I presume) taken over as the longest D3Hoops message board. With the length we have now reached, I went to check the CCIW board assuming they would now be into the 4-digits, but found that at some point we passed them up. It appears they have a separate in-game update board that they are good about using, but it's still fun to have MIAA bragging rights.

While I was there I also picked up an extremely interesting nugget: the CCIW is currently in an 8-way tie with all teams sitting at 1-1 in conference. It seems you would almost have to try to arrange that to make it occur. Perhaps a bit of parity in that conference this year.

ACtually the MIAA board has been "in front of" the CCIW board as far as number of pages for over a year.   The CCIW board has always held the lead in number of views (aka people reading the posts).  I'm guessing we'll hit 4 digits before the regular season is over this year.

An eight way tie is pretty interesting.  Could mean parity, could mean nothing.  Time will tell.

Mr. Ypsi

CCIW Chat plus CCIW in-game updates are together already at 1,0001 pages.

You'd better keep talkin' (I'll help)! ;D

I doubt the extreme parity will last long; it has occurred because so far home teams are 8-0.
