Maybe he should have gone with black and white stripes to match the content?  ;)

How about maroon and gold? Just kidding, but on a related note, I read that a Calvin alum designed the D3 Hoops Logo. I find this difficult to believe given the colors of the logo. Anyone know the story behind the logo?

PS I'm so discouraged and worried about Saturday's game, I don't dare think about it too much.

Livestats and broadcast links for each game have been posted on the MIAA Web site. Below is the link for the composite scoreboards that I created:

My Dad thinks of himself as a real Wiz when it comes to Calvin b-ball.  He is convinced for some reason that Calvin will win Saturday.  I'm not so optimistic but I do believe Calvin will take Hope at the Dick on 2/20.

I, for one, agree with your dad.  Calvin is more talented and has a deeper bench.  When they come ready to play, they win.  The Knights will, of course, be ready to play on Saturday.  Goodknighty now!

I mean other than two or three people on this board I think even most Calvin fans would admit that except for the Wash U game Calvin has not provided any proof that it is more talented or has a deeper bench than Hope this year. Is that talent there? Possibly but until Calvin plays that way game in and game out its hard to believe in.

Well, You will see the talent on Saturday.  Until Hope plays Calvin there is no reason to think Hope is more talented.

Well, You will see the talent on Saturday.  Until Hope plays Calvin there is no reason to think Hope is more talented.

As my posts throughout the season have said I think Calvin has a great deal of talent. Before the season started I picked them to finish first in the MIAA. I also think they stand a great chance of winning on Saturday. The rivalry may be exactly what Calvin needs to encourage the team to start playing a lot more like a team. If they do that I think they have the talent to play with anyone. But if you have an 8-6 record then Calvin's talent clearly hasn't translated onto the court on a consistent basis and that is the problem.

So maybe I will rephrase. Thus far this season Hope's talent has translated onto the court and into wins in a far more consistent way than Calvin's talent.

Now if you want to argue with that you may try.

I for one am never completely confident going into Hope/Calvin games...

Hope/Calvin games are usually competitive. Sometime the team that is supposed to win wins, sometimes they don't. I don't think that this game is THE thing that says "Calvin has talent". I think we all know that... and them winning this game does not mean they have more talent. Nor if Hope wins, especially by a small margin, does it mean they have more talent. I do think at this point Hope has showed better team talent, based on their record. This very well could be a best 2 out of three year... we'll have to see.

So much for all polls, everywhere! ;D

Polls are not perfect... Hope may or may not be a top 10 team. Calvin at this point should probably be where they are, and winning the league should quickly move them back into the national spotlight.

Someone help me out here...What changed on the site?  The board?  The main pages?  I can's spot the change!  I need to stop counting so many beans...

I guess so!   :D  Mostly a color scheme change on the board.  Posts are alternately beige and blue, making it easier to spot the end of one post and the start of another.

I am not saying that the Hope team will be looking past Alma, quite the contrary.  I just don't see how Alma can stay close in this game as Hope will be gearing up for the big Saturday matchup with Calvin and will want to keep the momentum going.

This Saturday's game is what we've all been waiting for since last March.   ;D

And if I get there early enough for the start of the jv game, will there be parking close enough to avoid the shuttle?  Or is all parking gone at this point?  Thanks in advance!

Well the whole upper-deck of one side of the court(the side behind the Calvin student section) is closed off.  That's pretty much one/fifth of the seating there closed off, although I'm sure it will still be very loud!

The shuttle has changed locations.  It was previously going to be at the Prince Center, now it's going to still be across the Beltline, but more north, directly across from Boer-Bennink hall (the best hall).  I should, or somebody else should, be getting more information in our emails and we'll copy and paste onto the board so you know exactly where to go for the shuttle.

If you don't mind walking in the cold, and get their early enough, then you should find some parking spaces in the normal West lot.

I just recommend getting there a little earlier than usual than past years.  The start of the JV will be a good time.

Many thanks, gk68!   :)

More info on the parking situation at Knollcrest Saturday. Someone had the bright idea to hold the annual Worship Symposium the same day Calvin hosts Hope. Because it is expected the Symposium will fill the Prince conference center (which is east of the Beltline) the shuttle had to be relocated to 1850 East Beltline, the former Heartwell Building and Calvin's current new advancement building. That shuttle relocation isn't so bad but because of the Symposium the west parking lot on the main campus where so many of us are used to parking will also be used by Symposium attendees. In an effort to not irritate neighbors, Calvin is trying to discourage fans from parking on nearby streets. I don't imagine Hope fans will be in much of a mood to be accomodating to Calvin's neighbors.
