Tragically, Alma falls 75-73 in OT.

Alma was able to get off the last shot but no good. Alma also recovered from a 12 point halftime deficit.

Very impressive game from Alma. Shocked they kept it that close, not sure what to think about the Brits effort tonight. Perchance they were looking ahead.

Went for the win too.

Hope 93
Tri-State 60

Great game from the Dutchmen. Hard to find fault when you shoot 60% from beyond the arc! They only shot 55% from the floor overall. (But the 60% from the FT line won't cut it. That's two bad FT shooting games in a row.)

One stat that sticks out to me other than those amazing stats above were MVH's 8 assists. Great to see your best player spread the ball around like that.

Hope pretty much killed Tri-State tonight 93-60, all 3's, outscored Tri-State by 30 from behind the arc.  Strange 33 point win, but nice to get a relatively stress free game between Calvin and Albion.  Only Defiance has handled TSU in this manner.

Wolfe and Tanis combined for 10-12 from 3 by themselves.
Wolfe 19, Tanis 15, Vanderheide 11, Reimink 10

TSU had 19 from Benford.......6 when it didn't matter, Chris Mislan 11

I will point out that the rebounding at the half was TSU 16 Hope 8..........Hope turned that around in the second half Hope 24 TSU 9 for a 32-25 edge for the game.

B. Way of Olivet 8-11, and 7-10 on 3's. but shoots no ft's.  An the beat goes on! :)

Wes Weir of Tri-State played in the JV game.  I thought he was done for the year with an ACL tear, but a heavy brace on his knee and a general slowness were all I saw.  Perhaps he will be back sometime late in the year?

Will Bowser did not play in the first half.  I would guess it was minor discipline.

Ty Tanis and Bryan Dutton should have been assessed double technicals late in the game, Ty for blatant taunting, and Dutton for pushing him in the face.

And Hope demolished what sounds like is a good team.  The Thunder were overwhelmed from the start.  If Tri-State had closed out on the shooters, Marcus and Klein would have had bigger games.  While the Dutchmen still rely on the three, they are much more multi-dimensional than in past years.  Oh, and one guy doesn't have to carry the scoring load.

What about Tyler Wolf? My allegiance's made me vote for Caleb, but based on the last two games I think he should be considered too.

Do you know what he did for this discipline?   ???

Some great individual performances tonight

3 double-double's

Mat Kellogg 29 points, 13 rebounds for Kalamazoo
Dean Raven 15 points, 10 rebounds for Albion
Matt Brown 22 points, 11 rebounds for Alma in 44 minutes of action.

Desmond Young goes for 30 points on 11-17 shooting for Adrian
Brandon Way goes for 23 on 7-10 from 3 point land for Olivet

Tyler Wolfe and Ty Tanis each go 5-6 from three to pace Hope, appropriately "tying" the DeVos Fieldhouse record for team 3's on 15-25 shooting.

tanis had 15 in 9 minutes. Sharples continues to show that, while limited on offense, is a beast on the glass.  Beg to differ on the double t. All ty did was smile after being "nudged" into the student section and blantently pushed near midcourt. Gvw asked an official and he was told that tanis didn't say a word. Guess smiling is as bad as students rushing the court now

I was also very surprised with tri's lack of effort on defense.  How many uncontested3's does a team have to make before a change is made? Wolfe should not have gotten a clean look within40 feet, let alone 6 great looks inside21 feet.

I have no idea.  But Bowser sitting for just the first half sounds like he was late to practice or something similar like that.

Ty gave Dutton a tongue waggle shortly after making the three and before Dutton shoved him.  While possibly no words were said, he continued to smile and provoke.  He should let his shooting do the talking and emulate the pure class of Wolfe.  It is satisfying when an opposing player loses his cool though!
