There are a lot of things that strike me about this board the last few days that most of you might disagree with.

First off, MVH for sure is league MVP which is verified by this video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbzIl4uw_Wk

Another thing: GVW is not the best coach on his own staff, so please do not compare him with KVS or Coach Turner.

Third: Calvin will advance furthest in the NCAA's

Geaux Knights

MWK--I think you are being called out to substantiate your comments.  I am not above throwing out some maroon and gold bluster, but why do you think this way?  What stats or examples support your argument?  What do you suspect will happen that will change the trend that has occurred so far this season?

Let 'em have it!

Supportively yours,

If Calvin allowed dancing, they'd probably have better recruiting years.   ;D

Speaking of recruiting, anyone care to comment on Rodts and Sytsma's varsity potential for next season.  I only caught the last half of the JV game last Saturday but those two really stood out to me for Calvin.

It feels like i'm always late for comments but whatever. On the Ty Tanis thing and him being smug and holding his follow through up, aren't players taught to hold there follow through up? Also he just smiled and backpedled as he hit the three right before the push nothing was said. Maybe the tounge out ala Jordan got to Danzy I beleive it was.

On a posotive note, it seems to me that Tanis could be the second coming of Daane Griffith as far as shooting wise, he just needs to be more consistant but he is a freshman and thats to be expected. There may be other great 3 pt shooters in Hope History, but Tanis just reminds me of Daane in the time I've been at Hope

Calvin has only Griffin as a sr. this year.  It seems every year there are several who drop out so KVS will need to come up with perhaps 3 or 4 next year, and should be able to do that even if no fr. make the roster next year.  More important than numbers are playing ability of the talent pool, and it isn't a big secret that Calvin is hurting on physical players inside.
I have not heard any recruiting rumors so far this year for either GVW or KVS.  I am sure they have several players they want, but it has been strangely quiet.

CM & FDF :  My friends. :D  Sadly you date yourself.  Calvin is now offering a minor in Dance.

Guess this means Calvin get the last dance, er, laugh. ;D

I'm sorry -- and I know.  :)  A friend of mine is a professor of dance at Calvin.  But still, I couldn't resist.   :D  I AM old enough to remember when...   8)

That's okay.  You are forgiven. :)  In fact I thought it was a funny, and clever comeback myself.

Calvin does have a couple of freshman(Strunk and Van Harn) that play JV and suit Varsity, so I guess it bodes well for their future.  Didn't get a chance to see the Strunk kid play much as he went down with an injury in the first quarter of last Saturday's game.

You make a good point, but there is a difference between holding your follow through to make sure its a good shot, and holding it to show off which is what it generally appears tanis is usually doing, after 4 of 5 backpedals, i'm pretty sure your follow through is no longer needed.

I do agree with you though, Tanis will be one of the great shooters ever at Hope, I just "hope" he can do it with class. Even most of his own teammates would like to see the cockiness fade away a little bit. But I hope he keeps shooting the ball, and go Dutchmen.

PS thanks to whoever took away all my karma for simply speaking my opinion about tanis

If this is in fact ticking off his teammates, then I am sure one of the upperclassmen will have a talk with him and it will probably stop.

Wow, an 18 year old with a little cockiness.  Who knew, this must be the first time ever. :-\

Any thoughts on basketball?

What does (your fav MIAA taem) have to do to beat (their opponent) tomorrow?

Which team is most likely to pull off an upset, and why?

Anything other than doubts about so-and-so's character based on lame, half-informed opinions?

Sheesh?
If there is one thing I've learned from this board it's this: There's more than one way to split a hair.
