Does anyone know how Stephen Cramer is doing with the Weiden Coocoons?  I couldn't find a link to a schedule or box scores.  Hopefully someone has had better luck keeping up that I have.

This website has some stats (it's of course all in German).  Cramer is currently leading the league at 31.9 points per game

http://www.basketball-bund.net/statistik.do?reqCode=statBesteWerfer&liga_id=3133&_top=10

I see he's ahead of Calvin again. 8)

Only because he seems to be full of Schnitt.

OMG!!  WHAT A GAME!!   ;D

I have never been to a Hope game like the game I went to this evening!  HOLY COW (in the infamous words of Harry Caray!!)  There were sooooooooooooooo many highlights, so many records broken, it was like, like the other team didn't show. First - the defense was unstoppable - and the major contributors were the Frosh Four. They certainly stepped up to the plate (or in this case the basket) and showed why they were destined to be Dutchmen. They were almost as hot as the guys who usually see limited action because THEY WERE STARTERS for the game!!! I'm not sure what Coach GVW had in mind, but man was it ingenious!! Those guys owned the floor. And when Dan Holt went 6 for 6 on 3 pointers, I was afraid that they didn't bring enough Mountain Dew bottles to paste on the wall.  And speaking of 3's, when the ENTIRE team each scored a three, not only was that a DeVos record but it had to be an NCAA record too!!! Even having referee Ernie Cryor come out of retirement to do the game was also special. To have Ernie lead the Dew Crew in the opening warm-ups brought back so many memories. And when Ernie overturned a number of "botched" calls by the other referees and banned them all to the state of Florida (where they would fit in much better), I thought the crowd was going to die! But I'm not sure that was THE memory of the night. It might have been when ALL 15 players dunked the ball over an opposing player during the game. After fans realized that stat, I think that every fan present vowed to wear blue and orange striped socks for the rest of the season. I mean I have never seen so many dunks. They were all so unbelievable. Did I mention that I have NEVER seen dunks like that ever before? I mean EVER before. I'm sure we'll be catching highlights on YouTube. Something you would never see watching a North Carolina/Duke game at all. Hope's full court press was so text book - after the game rumor has it that tapes of the game are being sent to Mike Krzyzewski (a.k.a. Coach K) overnight to help his Dukies climb back up to the top position in Div I.  I guess the last memory of the evening was the introduction of Coach Bobby Knight who was present for the game. He shared with the crowd that now that he has some free time, he wanted to experience what a real basketball team and game was all about. He said that Hope and the DeVos was "IT."

Like I began the post, OMG!!  WHAT A GAME!!   ;D

And... in case some of you think that I might have been out in the cold too long shoveling snow, and could only have dreamed about this scenario, you're dead wrong - this game was real   IT REALLY WAS!!!   ;)

Yes, they called for extra periods just so the visitors could have more chances to save face and break the 20pt barrier.  In the end, it was futile, as Hope won 417 to 15.

yes I did!!!  weird....I dont even know how karma works....I had some, then I lost it....if I were from Calvin, I would just think it was preordained that I lost karma!!!

Dumez, there's a time and a place.  Where do you think one should debate whether Ebels or Winkle would be on the All-Decade team?

As far as Karma goes, I don't pay attention to it, so if you lost some, so be it.

DUH!!

As Stinger kindly reminds us people... There is a time and place...!

So please, can we set up separate boards for:
1. Duke/NC talk
2. Henry Kissinger
3. Stephen Cramer
4. Made up games
5. Rehab
and of course...
6. Karma

Cause quite frankly This is the current season's MEN'S BASKETBALL BOARD, and all that other talk is just plain foolishness!  :P

I don't live in Michigan but I wish safety for everyone who is travelling to games tonight and tried to travel yesterday.....

Go Knights tonight against an Alma team that seems to be better than their overall record indicates.  Now is the time of year when we need to finally see this team gel.  A lot of Calvin people on the board seem to be unconcerned about the losses this year because "a KVS team always plays better in Feb/Mar".  Well it's now Feb.....I'd rather not wait till the MIAA tourney to try to put it all together.   Home against Alma--we need a statement game.

I might agree with you Stinger, if Dumez was debating that (that was MIdoubleA).  His post (and reference to women's basketball) was totally in context for this board.

I know I am late to this conversation but I read this board and cannot believe how worried people get over losing a road regular season basketball game.  UNLESS you have an absolutely dominant team (like the HOPE women this year....btw sorry STINGER for mentioning the womens team on a mens board....:) you are not likely to run the table in the MIAA.  Too many good teams and especially good coaches who have their teams well-prepared for everything you do.  The questions to ask are:  Did Hope play hard?  did they get good shots?   Did good shooters get their shots where they should?  Did they defend?  If you can say yes to these questions...chalk it up to a poor shooting night and give the other team some credit also.
