DCHN:

Unless I totally misunderstand the present rating system it really is better for MIAA teams if Capital wins, not Hberg.

Maybe, I think one Capital loss drops them from first but I guess I am working under the assumption that if Capital loses tonight (almost certain as I type this) and then were to lose again in their conference tourney that may provide the room for Hope or Albion to jump them in the GL rankings and provide one a better chance at a Pool C bid.

Its official. Heidelberg beats Capital 80-74

Looks like more of Calvin's shots are beginning to drop.

Hope needs to improve the interior D on Mantel.

EDIT: Albion appears to be pulling away from Tri-State. And I am shocked at the smack down Olivet is laying on Kzoo at Kzoo.

My worst "knightmare" is coming to pass in Holland. :(

DCHN:  I guess my thinking was Hberg was blocking an MIAA team from pool C.  By beating Capital,  Hberg really solidifies it's potential for a C bid if it doesn't win their conference tourney.

Realist, you are absolutely right. I was forgetting the Hberg pool c bid angle. Well in that case this win hurts Albion way more than Hope because despite the fact Hope and Albion are 3 and 4 in the GL region I think Hope has a far better chance of getting a Pool C bid were the season to end today (assuming of course it somehow didn't have the A today).

NWHF: I hope I didn't unintentionally encourage you not to post.

WOW! 43-19. Didn't see this coming. But as always this is far from over.

Finally, I hope Stinger stayed home tonight. He couldn't be happy at that game.

DCHN:  I've seen this coming for awhile now.  My fellow Calvin posters have not been happy with me, but even my maroon and gold glasses can't cover up reality.

Shut down the 3 guard offense, and Calvin's frontline can not carry the day.
Very predictable >:(

Would not have guessed that would be the score of the first half. Heck of a game for the Dutchmen so far!

WOW! In my wildest dreams I would not have predicted a halftime score of 50-22. I thought Hope could win by double digits but didn't expect this.

First half musings:
- Great first half from Jesse! 19 points on 6-9 shooting including 4-5 from beyond the arc!

- Bosch has really provided some solid minutes off the bench!

- A bit surprised we haven't seen Bowser or Sharples. I assume Carter is still hurt and out of commission.

- Although Hope has shut down the 3 guard offense I think Calvin's front line has played alright. Mantel and Engelsma have 17 of Calvin's 22 points. I don't think Calvin could ask for much more from them.

Yes, a good game for Hope.  Doing everything most of us said they had to do to win, and Calvin doing none of the things NB said Calvin had to do to win. :)

DCHN:  Thanks for trying to be kind, and gracious.  Sadly Calvin has played more than those 2 frontline players, and the backup guys have not produced.

Alma gets an impressive home win tonight against Adrian, 58-56.

Albion is about to wrap things up over Tri-State.

With those results. Tri-State has wrapped up the 4 seed in the MIAA tourney. All the rest are still up for a fight.

Alma and Kzoo will probably be tied at 3-10. With Adrian and Olivet at 4-9 on the bottom half.

It appears the Dutchmen became a bit complacent during the half. I certainly hope they pick it back up!
