The projection has Hope in a bracket with Guilford. That could be an interesting game, as a player such as Ben Strong could pose the most difficult match-up for the Dutchmen.

Sac, maybe I'm missing it, but what is the ironic part if we have to play UWSP? The fact that we were on track to play them last year without Wash U in the way? Perhaps if we match up with the Pointers, there could be a micro-brew competition as a sideshow.

You know, I can't remember the last time I got the error for repeating a karma move to soon...

UWSP is/are the Pointers...   We've been aggravated by "pointers" recently...thus the irony.

No real surprise, except I thought Calvin would keep the game closer in the 2nd half.  Great win for Hope.  The better team usually wins in these games, and I think the better team all year has been Hope.  As several other have mentioned Calvin had flashes of brilliance during the year, but whatever the "magic" or "secret" ingredient for a winning year it certainly was missing.  We have considerable talent returning next year, and perhaps the chemistry or whatever will be better.  As a Calvin fan it has been frustrating.  I don't mind losing to a better team like today, but Calvin lost some games they just simply should have won.  The coaches, and players have no one but themselves to blame for being on the outside looking in. 
Good luck to Hope going forward.  Make the MIAA proud.

Thanks for the kind words.  Don't worry I will be hanging around for awhile.

Hopefully we have gotten most of the drivel out of the way.   I never have, nor probably ever will understand how some (so called fans) can work themselves up into such a lather over the play of one or two players.  Frankly the Hope team did everything necessary to put Mr. Griffin in his place.  End his season, and his college career.

Would not have guessed a bye, that is a wow. Capital doesn't sound like too easy a (presumable) second round opponent, but I'm glad they will have to come to us.

Getting a bye now shows in retrospect how important it was to finish that sweep of Calvin this weekend.

Interesting to note .... Centre, UW Whitewater are also in our bracket. Which means 3 of the top 4 teams in the country are in the same sectional. I know D3hoops poll means nothing towards this, but wow. Seems pretty brutal. It will be interesting to see where the third and fourth rounds are held. Assuming no upsets it would stand at Whitewater Centre Occidental and Hope. No obvious geographic placement there.

Key thing is getting those home games.  Sooner or later you are going to have to play, and beat some top rated teams.

I would think Whitewater is the obvious geographic choice.  Also, if the women are around for the second weekend, by NCAA rules, they have priority over the men for hosting sectionals.  Who knows though, perhaps the NCAA will be stupid and prevent the women from hosting because they are hosting the final four.
