maybe this week we all schould wear orange shorts  like the flying dutch fan it is supposed to warm up i think orange shorts and orange shirt and orange hat

Exactly!  However, it might ease up on all the staring newcomers do when they see him walk into the DeVos in 10 degree weather in shorts (or it might just be his legs...)   ;D

Maybe it's part of the home court advantage that Hope enjoys (one more thing to shock them all) - or maybe you're all just jealous    ;)

Pat, and Sac: I really liked your answers to section 7's question.   I tried, but was remiss in not advising section 7 to see Pat's article re :  "what it means to be #1" (or words to that affect.).   #1 is no predictor of success, but having so many non ranked team advance so far is really unusual.  Having followed D3 since prior to the MIAA allowing teams in the NCAA tourney I do not recall a year in which the (I really hate to use this word) parity of the teams, or some other factor of the various conferences has been evident.    Frankly a sweet 16 without a WIAC is hard to imagine.  When is the last time it happened?
I do not envy those who have to sit every week, and try to discern which are the top 25 teams in the country.  Without more interregional action it is a crap shoot at best.  If this tournament does nothing else it should cause the NCAA, yet again,   to take a long and serious look at how it ranks teams.

An interesting stat of the day for Hope...

Currently all 5 starters for Hope are averaging in double digits (scoring) per game:

Marcus 14.5
Tyler 12.8
Derek 11.8
Jesse 10.8
Ryan 10.0

Even more telling of the balance in Hope's offense, all 5 starters have had multiple games where they scored 20 or more points:

Marcus 30, 22, 24, 26
Tyler 23, 26, 25
Derek 20, 20
Jesse 25, 28
Ryan 20, 23

2006.

Q was being too modest.  The WIAC had THREE teams in that year.  Calvin did in one, the CCIW (IWU and Augie) did in the others.

Just a few official words about tickets for Friday and Saturday games at Hope....Season ticket holders sold out reserved seats from the Hope allotment in about 3 hours today (started selling about 8:30 AM). Saturday at this point is also sold out (if Hope wins) for reserved seats.

Tickets for faculty/staff and students moved up their sale to today since the seats were gone for season ticket holders.

Once the reports come back from the other schools there maybe more seats available (reserved) for the general public sales which begins at 1:30 PM on Thursday. (as of now there is general admission available)

As far as the Dew Crew goes....we've sold more than 30 student tickets so far. Additionally the Saugatuck HS band will be there complete with orange Hope shirts and live music. So the "student" section should at least make a good showing. More on those numbers tomorrow.

If Hope for some reason would not be in the game on Saturday, the plan is to make the game a general admission game. Otherwise Hope will have 2/3 of the gym and the opponent 1/3.

a little ticket trivia....in the past 3 weeks there have been more than 30,000 tickets printed for fans....in the DeVos Fieldhouse ticket office....

I guess 30 isn't bad. Too bad we're hitting spring break with this. I guess I'm odd man out, however. I never did see the point of going south and ending up on a "Geeks Gone Wild" video. Usually I was at home earning money. Why would someone go to Cancun when they can watch Hope try to make history? It baffles me.
