Carter and Bosch take 2 spots and I doubt that their "top recruit" will be brought in to play jv. Same with Nellis and Peter.

Who is this recruit you are referring to?   And as 'Hope1' says, it is a bit early to count chickens, unless both this recruit and Peter have both decided on attending Hope.

I did not bother to go back and look for the random drive-by post about Hope bribing its way to an easy sectional (actually, was that removed anyway?), but the new Top 25 coming out would be quite interesting to our little visitor. It appears that with some tournament information to review, the voters have shaken up their ballots a lot, bringing 5 teams into the Top 25 who were previously unranked. It just so happens Wheaton and OWU are among those teams, with Wheaton jumping to #11. So at the end of the year, all 5 of Hope's tournament opponents are ranked somewhere between #1 and #23. Not that the point about quality of opponents wasn't already made and not that that person is still around I'm sure.

Just a reminder, unless I'm missing something, Troy Peter has not said he'll be attending Hope.

last i heard (a week ago?), Peter had not even applied to Hope...and that seems to be an important factor since the admissions office has had a record number of applicants and is turning people away left and right...so it would seem an extreme longshot that he would end up at hope. heck, the one game he came to he left early...

and the "top recruit" PG is by no means definite either. he has his own decision to wrestle with (walkon at in-state D-1) before he commits to anything local.

Of Hope's early round opponents I was most impressed with Ohio Wesleyan, they were much better than I realized.  Capital was big strong and physical but their defense left much to be desired.  They'll probably be overwhelming favorites to win the OAC next year, but unless the D improves, probably another quick tournament exit.

I'm not convinced Wheaton is one the 11 best teams in D3, I was very impressed with their effort in Holland.  But if they don't make the tournament, its doubtfull anyone even gives them a passing glance for voting.  They had a nice run but they only beat 1 ranked team in Lawrence.  Prior to the tournament Wheaton was equivalent of #32.........thats a really big jump for beating Lawrence, Loras, Whitworth and playing Hope tough. :-\

I feel pretty stongly Ursinas is not one of the top 10 teams in D3, they had a great season but Amherst and Hope pretty much could name their number vs Ursinas.  If the articles I read are true Hope didn't even scout Ursinas.  In Hope's bracket would they have survived Capital, OWU and Wheaton?..... very doubtfull.

Washington to me is the best D3 team Hope's played in the last 8 years, right next to last years version of the Bears.  It was always going to be a tough task to beat them, I'm just glad Hope got a second crack at them.

Regarding Snikkers, if memory serves correct wasn't the expectation at the time he enrolled at Hope that he would have to essentially serve the terms of his suspension offered by CU?  Has he completed those terms, and offered the necessary penance?
I believe the answer to that would be yes - as he did not play basketball for one season.

Based on the other comments I sort of assumed that was the case, but you know how it goes with assumptions. ;)
One has to respect the integrity of the Hope program with it's requiring the
serving of the suspension as a pre-condition to playing.  I would expect no leass from other MIAA teams, but suspect not all D3 schools might feel that way.

How many quality opponents did Hope beat this year away from DeVos Fieldhouse?

:) :) :) Is Hope ever going to get out of the "shadow" of Calvin ??? :) :)
I think the correct answer is really more than Calvin.  Calvin beat Wash U, but that was at Calvin.  Can't think who the other quality wins by Calvin might be?
