Rumor has it Hope is picking up a 7-foot bigten transfer who sat out last year after micro-fracture surgery.  There are some draft and agent issues still floating, but Reggie Bush is making a "donation" to the NCAA scholarship program that is supposed to clear those up.

I don't think he'd want to give up his beach house in Portland to attend Hope. ;)

Ah... The beach... It is a about an hour and a half from here. No beaches per se in Portland.

Whether myth, legend, truth or lie...........there was a quote floating around attributed to Oden about being drafted by Portland.   "I don't mind Portland, I love the beach."

kids, the word for the day is spelled S-H-A-R-E.

it works when you have a toy your sister really wants to play with and you have already finished playing with it.

it works when your brother lets you climb the ladder into the treehouse to spend time with his friends.

and it really seems to work out pretty well when it's 95-96 and you have 2 PGs named kevin and joel...

The 6-9 All-american center didn't hurt either   :D

I'll make no comment on the bulb wattage, but for a kid from NY and IN, do you think he had a great idea of where Portland was, other than on the west coast. And the beach, while absolutely beautiful, is cold most of the year, and the water hardly ever friendly. He would have been better off in Miami...

This is what I found: "According to Sports Illustrated, Ohio State center who is likely to be drafted by Seattle or Portland, told everyone what he knows about the Pacific Northwest:

"I know it rains a lot. I know it's close to L.A., and I love that. I want to go to L.A. and go to the beach.""
"We are told that Christ was killed for us, that His death has washed out our sins, and that by dying He disabled death itself. ... That is Christianity. That is what has to be believed."

Geography 101 was not in his rigorous semester, at least this one.  (from the SI article)

a five-credit Sociology 101 course,
a five-credit History of Rock And Roll course,
and two credits for being a basketball player.  (which you can do twice at OSU)

As a Hornet fan and a Spartan fan, I have finally come to the conclusion that my team simply will not win when Todd Geerlings is the referee.   I could only laugh when I saw that joker come into the stadium yesterday afternoon.

MSU had bigger issues than Geerlings (try 6 Ohio State linebackers faster than any of your/our [im about to marry an MSU grad student...eek!] defensive backs...)

Not blaming Geerlings for a bad performance, just his presence.

I blame the presence of Jim Tressel and his team...........of course sParty(on) is 1-5 when I'm in attendance the last 3 years.

I was adding this up this morning, between my high school, college, favorite college and the Lions.  My teams are 3-24..........I need basketball

Or the lack of "presence" of the defense. Kinda like WMU at CMU too!  But I was informed yesterday that the defense for the Broncos did indeed miss the bus and never made it to Mt. Pleasant. But fortunately they were able to dress some Detroit Tiger players in Bronco Brown and Gold (and black).  So in actuality, the results turned out the same.

Ahhhhh, yes, basketball can't come fast enough!!!   :)

Nice!

The most shocking news from this was Albion being ranked #25 by DIII News.  I admit I haven't looked at things, but this is a bit of a surprise.  BW being #1 on the women's side also bring up another whole set of questions, but thats for another board.

Albion has added a Nov 8. exhibition game vs Indiana State.

Also Albion has put together a series of photos from Mike Turner's career

And Turner

And Calvin loses:

Kent Raymond is listed as the preseason Player of the Year. Certainly it'll be fun to see him one last time in the MIAA/CCIW Classic. But boy does it feel to me like he has been in school forever...
