Looked into it, Jungling cut, while Nelis and Warren made it.

That's a tough break for Jungling.  He's a pretty good little point guard with some experience.

It will be interesting to see if Calvin figures out that leaving Reimink wide open on the 3 point line means that is an automatic 3.  Pretty much the whole Calvin roster last season was too slow at getting out to defend the 3.    That was a big difference between Calvin and Hope last season.  Calvin often had to force long shots with someone in their face because they didn't move without the ball, although Veldhouse and Griffin were good at making those types of shots at times, it will eventually not work in the long-run.     ....while Hope had everyone moving without the ball much more leaving Reimink and the dozens of other Hope players who could shoot the lights out wide open on the perimeter.

Hope's roster is up - proving the accuracy of our friends on the inside

Dan Kraakevik Fr. 6-7 230 F/C Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton North

On the CCIW board we joked last Spring about the number of kids from Wheaton North H.S. being recruited by small colleges...the entire starting 5 in fact.  Here is where they ended up...

* Tom Fitzpatrick (The Citadel - D1)
* John Bagge (Hillsdale College - D2)
* Dave Pilalis (Lake Forest - D3)
* Steve Pierotti (Wheaton College - D3)
* Kristian Rosenberger (Wheaton College - soccer)

I was shocked to pull up the Hope roster and see a kid from Wheaton North I've never heard of.  6-7/230 kids who can play are hot commodities in CCIW land - see Tom Fitzpatrick, above.  Guessing Dan Kraakevic is a major "project" for the Dutchmen?

correct me if i'm wrong - both freshmen on the varsity squad are sent to us from Hope Basketball players of the past, yes?

out of curiousity, I checked out the other MIAA websites for rosters, several are up-not Albion's, Adrian's of Olivet's- and the most interesting may be the fact that 7 of 14 roster spots for Alma are freshman, although only two of the names I recall being thrown about, both guards.

In regards to Hope's roster, with the strength being in the backcourt, and an abundance of guards, I'm thinking we'll see more 3 guard lineups like wolfe, DVS and tanis last season. They have some size, athletic ability and beef in the post (snikkers isn't 6'6 but he's definitely "beefy")

Curious to see  which frosh make Albion's varsity roster.  Hutton was high on everyone's wish list and i've heard great things.  Walker from Cedar Springs is a nice player as well and will be a very good player down the road.

Any background info on Calvin's "transfers"?

I'm thinking that the soccer season is still in motion and wasn't able to?  With the JV roster being relatively small, he could fit in there.

Did Logan Neill not go out for the team?

He was not part of tryouts. Does anyone remember a precedence at Hope where a player came from a fall sport and then was just "inserted" in the roster without having attended tryouts??? The JV players are just as curious as Almcguire.
