Given that Benedictine's three best players, Stokes, Montiel, and Howard all transferred, it's surprising to see them picked 3rd.

Greek Tragedy

Is the NACC that bad after the top 2? Maybe. I know they get a grad transfer in Patrick Mayfield. He was the leading scorer and all conference player at Dubuque during the Covid year. Then he transfered to D1 Akron. Not sure if they got any other impact transfers in.

Yikes. I think NPU is in a total rebuild, but that's still a crazy result.

The shooting is insane, but if you play at that pace against a team that's better than you, the margin is likely to look pretty bad anyway.  NPU is going to have to focus on defense, I'd imagine, before they worry about too much else.

What should we think of Marian? They are 6-0 and nearly knocked off D1 San Diego. I guess we'll find out next week with conference play opening up. So far they look better than the 13th place team in the conference.

Marian's opponents' cumulative record is 10-26 with no opponent being .500 or better at this point. A single digit loss to a D-1 program is impressive, but let's see what conference play brings.

Watched BoxKast.....saw they shot like just less than 100% from 3P in the first 15 minutes. Wow. Nice upset.

Officials were marginal but that crew always is.  Grescz gets them to stand and talk to him in front of his bench way too much. Can he do that on the road?  Semling never could do that at Point.

Marian might be a solid outfit but again how much of it is their schedule being really soft and how much of it is them being much improved? A matchup against WLC this Saturday will tell us more.

Speaking of, WLC came back from Texas with a nice win over #23 Trinity (TX). Solid test tomorrow against Augustana to wrap up non-conference play.

After WLC and St. Norbert, it's anyone's guess.

St. Norbert gave UW-Platteville all they could handle but they fall short in OT 60-54 to the Pioneers.
