WLC AD Skip Noon announces retirement after 33 years: https://wlcsports.com/news/2025/1/14/general-director-of-athletics-skip-noon-announces-retirement.aspx

Having worked with Skip when I was at WLC, he is the one of the more supportive people out there. Especially during the time I was helping to coach the Men's Tennis team (assistant and team manager). Please enjoy retirement Skip! You've definitely earned it.

1/18 Matchups

Concordia Wisconsin at Dominican: Great win over St. Norbert last night for the Falcons. CUW has won 7 of 8 heading into the weekend and looking to make it 8 of 9 against basement dwelling Dominican.

MSOE at Rockford: Raiders are hitting their stride and now find themselves 1/2 game back of the lead on the heels of a four game winning streak. Rockford has been rather pedestrian since mid December but have won 2 of the last 3. MSOE is the favorite here but a win for the Regents could keep them in the top half of the standings.

Marian at Benedictine: Sabers once again are in the danger zone. After stunning Aurora late last Saturday, they dropped a winnable game against now a surging Lakeland team. In comes Benedictine who Marian beat early on while the Eagles were struggling. In their three losses, Marian struggled to shoot well from 3 shooting under 30% all three times. If BenU can do the same here, it could be a rough one in Lisle.

Lakeland at Edgewood: Having the calendar year flip to 2025 might have cured what ailed Lakeland as the Muskies have won 3 of 4 including a big home win over Marian last night. Edgewood needs a win to get some momentum behind them but I like how the Muskies have been playing as of late.

St. Norbert at Aurora: Ever since taking UW-Platteville to the wire in De Pere, they have lost 3 of 4 and now are out of a tie for first with WLC after CUW rallied late last night. Aurora still feels like they haven't gotten out of third gear and have been trading wins and losses as of late. Unfortunately it will be a tall task for the Spartans to break that against the Green Knights here.

#8 Wisconsin Lutheran at Concordia Chicago: Warriors are back in the top ten for the second time this season and now all alone atop the NACC after Wednesday. CUC has been sliding the wrong way losing 6 of 7. Gonna be a tough task to stop that slide against a well tuned Warrior machine in River Forest.

1/18 Scores

MSOE 89
Rockford 79

Raiders go 50% from 3 and 55% overall for the game. Also helps that they got to the stripe 32 times compared to 10 for Rockford.

Dominican 90
Concordia Wisconsin 72

Well that's one way to get your first conference win Stars. This loss might come back to haunt CUW down the road.

Marian 71
Benedictine 69

Neither team shot the ball all that well but Marian finds a way again to win a tight game this year.

Lakeland 89
Edgewood 80

Muskies continue their winning ways with a road win over Edgewood.

Aurora 76
St. Norbert 62

Green Knights are in free fall since the new year started and Aurora compounds that even further taking one at home.

#8 Wisconsin Lutheran 92
Concordia Chicago 78

Warriors nail 13 three pointers while limiting the Cougs to 42% shooting for the game.

NACC Standings as of 1/18

#8 Wisconsin Lutheran 14-1 (7-1)
MSOE 11-5 (7-2)
Marian 13-3 (6-3)
St. Norbert 10-6 (6-3)
Aurora 7-9 (5-4)
Lakeland 6-10 (5-4)
Concordia Wisconsin 7-8 (5-5)
Rockford 9-6 (4-4)
Benedictine 5-11 (4-5)
Concordia Chicago 5-10 (3-7)
Edgewood 4-13 (3-7)
Illinois Tech 3-12 (2-6)
Dominican 4-11 (1-7)

WLC still remains the clear cut top team here with MSOE starting to establish itself as a solid #2, everyone from 3-9 is getting more muddy. St. Norbert who everyone thought was the clear challenger to WLC, has dropped 5 of 6. Marian still is hanging around despite a few dings as of late. Lakeland's surge up the standings continues while Aurora got a big shot in the arm with a W today vs St. Norbert. CUW missed a good opportunity to climb up the standings losing to basement dweller Dominican. Rockford is still in the chase for the conference tournament but they need to start getting hot again or it might be more of an uphill climb for them.

1/22 Matchups

Concordia Chicago at Edgewood: Cougs are heading into this matchup losing 4 straight and 8 of 10. Eagles aren't in much better shape. This probably could go either way regardless.

MSOE at Concordia Wisconsin: CUW missed a golden opportunity to climb further up the standings after that St. Norbert win by losing to basement dweller Dominican last Saturday. Meanwhile the Raiders have been stacking wins and find themselves a half game out of the lead. This could be a rather exciting one in Mequon.

Illinois Tech at Dominican: Well the Stars got their first conference win in impressive fashion last Saturday over CUW. They could very well get number two against Illinois Tech.

Rockford at Aurora: Still plenty of games left but you can feel that the Regents need to win this one in order to stay in contention for at least a conference tournament spot. Aurora comes into this winning 5 of 7 including a home win over St. Norbert last time out.

St. Norbert at Benedictine: BenU hasn't really set the world on fire this year but they are only 2 games out of third place with how results have shook out to this point. St. Norbert has been heading the wrong direction since the new year has started but could remain a dangerous opponent for WLC. First order of business will be to stop their losing streak which they should do but I can't see this being easy.

#7 Wisconsin Lutheran at Marian: The rematch of earlier in the month. WLC stands alone atop the league and keeps humming along. Marian has been pedestrian to this point but Will remains in a tie for third. A win here for the Sabers could do wonders but again the body of work to this point very much favors WLC.
