ESPNU for the announcement? Stinks.

Who gets that? Their market penetration is about 20 million homes, I believe.

That's buried very, very deep -- and you have to go to Charlotte for that, Pat?

Yeah, more than a little disappointing considering how much they plugged a certain D3 play last week.  Maybe that was their quota for the year.   >:(

ESPNU is channel 148 on Dish, which is only available in the Top 250 and "Everything" packages. You may want to note that on the front page (channel #, not details), Pat.

Hopefully they will stream the video somewhere for the 95% of us with no access to the channel.

Thanks for the info, I'll add it.

Yes, but I had to go to Bristol otherwise for ESPNews. This will be something new, anyway. :)

Sweet...selection sunday on a channel nobody gets...awesome.  :-\

Pat Coleman

Yeah, ESPNU in 20 million homes, ESPNews in 50 million. ESPN itself is in 91 million homes, according to ESPN's site.

Really...I didn't think the U was even in that many but I guess DirecTV has more subscribers than I thought.  At least it's not on "The Ocho."  It's better than a kick in the teeth I suppose... 8)

I just checked and here in Northeast Ohio it's channel 118 on Time Warner Cable.  I have NO CLUE what package I actually have (it's some expanded cost me a fortune deal) but at least IT'S THERE!   ;)

old ends

I guess that is why I will wait to read it on d3. To far out in the boonies for cable and to many trees for any of the non terrestrial stuff.. Phone company keeps saying SOON!!!!

Turn on the channel and make sure it's in your package: my suggestion, anyway.

Done and done!  The video recorder is set.  No bumbling/stumbling PC....give em hell!

smed, who's usually on top of these things, failed to mention that it's 609 on DirecTV. If you get their Sports package (only $10.99/month I think) you get a great number of regional Comcast and Fox Sports Net, Sports Time Ohio, Altitude and many other channels as well.

Pat had that (DirecTV channel number) on the front page in the original announcement, which was why I chimed in about the Dish channel.  Glad it's easier for you to get on DirecTV than it is on Dish.

I will also. Why doesn't someone put it on YouTube afterward if no net access can be located? Copyright, schmopyright ... that should work for a few days.

(saw a whole bunch of photos with D3 watermarks on there the other day, don't make me play enforcer)

I guess I better check if I have The U. I have DirecTV but I'm never home when any sports are on. It mostly stays tuned to Sprout and Noggin.
