Surprised no one has  posted the D III bonanza this Saturday.

On NESN (Channel 623 on DirecTV) Amherst @ Williams Noon Eastern
On  HD Net (Channel 79 DirecTV) Monon Bell -  Wabash @ DePauw 1pm Eastern

On  HD Net (Channel 9422 Dish) Monon Bell -  Wabash @ DePauw 1pm Eastern

I think it was talked about a few pages back.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I might have to buy the package for this weekend.

Everyone tape everything they can and we'll either compile, YouTube or trade later.

Some interesting stuff here about ESPN's GameDay plans. Hadn't been able to find that page earlier.

That page links to those pretty good features ESPNU.com did on rivalries earlier this year, including Amherst-Williams and Hope-Calvin.

Keith, FYI, we don't get HDNet with the sports package. Gotta have an HD package.

I believe I meant buy the package in response to the earlier post about you being on the U, but 1) I definitely glazed over the fact that Monon Bell was on an HD channel, so thanks and 2) I ended up not buying it.

They just mentioned Salisbury as "Saulsberry State" in reference Byron Westbrook emulating Brian Westbrook in Redskins' prep for the Eagles game. Old news, but another TV mention in a season full of them.

Very interested in anyone who taped or is buying a DVD from one of yesterday's rivalry games or the ESPN appearance.

Also I'm told on ESPNews later today and ESPN.com, Pat will have a segment discussing the D3 brackets, so look out for that.

You can watch Pat's preview by going to

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncaa/espnu/index

The D3 Playoff preview is one of the videos listed on the right (sorry, no direct link).  You do have to sit through a commercial first. :(

Amazing how they just rushed him through those timed slides before he was even done talking about the region!!  What the f*ck else are they showing on ESPNU that they couldn't give him time to finish speaking!!!!!  Nice work under the gun PC!!

Ron Boerger

Yeah, Pat must have had all of three minutes to talk thru the brackets.   >:(

Good news department:  at least the Stagg will be on ESPN itself.  The D2 championship's on ESPN2.

downtown48

That's cool, I get that in HD!

They were definitely in a hurry and I definitely talk long. :)

Thanks for the support, guys. I hope next year maybe D-III can have the coach interview and get 17 minutes of the show instead of D-II. Doesn't look like two 30-minute shows is possible, though, since there isn't a lot of editing and production staff on this project at ESPNU.

And disappointing that more Division III schools didn't step up to the plate and send video. We didn't use Wabash video for reasons that I understand were ESPN-related but we used something from every other school that sent stuff in. (Other than schools who sent video but didn't make the playoffs.) I hope next year more schools send video in -- I'd rather be calling a player's name out on the highlights because that gives D-III more of a share of the show.

I saw a blurb on the Nightly Business Report that they would be doing a show tomorrow (part 2)  on small college football.  It turns out that featured Seton Hill was almost D3 but is going D2. :'(

Some of the concepts may apply.   Here is the sight:

Hey Jonny, maybe we can get an answer here since the rivalries thread has been hijacked and ... well, I'll just leave it at that.

I think I've heard that in a couple rivalries. Not sure those early records were very well kept.

What a crappy year for ESPN to pick Williams (5-2) and Amherst (4-3).

Those two are usually in the title mix alongside Trinity (Conn.)

I guess there was nowhere they wanted to be this week. Interested to hear why D3 suddenly interested them.

Was anyone able to watch it?  How was the crowd behind the espn desk?

I've seen the Hardin Simmons - McMurry crosstown game live in Abilene, TX. Don't know if it was on this year as I was at the game.

Is there an "introduction" thread? Couldn't find one if there was....

So, will either semifinal game be on TV the weekend - or perhaps streamed on the internet?
