Here in the Chicago area ESPN provides a H.S. game live weekly (usually midweek). I'm sure the schools change their scheds for TV as these schools are from all over the country....so.....why can't D3 catch some TV time??? Even one game a week on national TV would help provide some exposure for the kids and the schools during the regular season...and it would be more fun to watch than HS ball...and I love HS sports..
Tough times dont last...tough people do!

I think the perception is that D3 is a dead end for average athletes, while these high school games are usually to showcase teams with one or more bonafide D-1A prospects.

Some days I wish D3 was covered more, some days I think we're better off in our own little corner here with people who actually know what they're talking about and care about D3.

ESPN2 is broadcasting a "College Football's Greatest Coaches" feature Fri night @ 7 EDT before the UTEP-Tulsa game.  Rumor is Gagliardi is included.

I know Ithaca streams home games over the internet. Are there any other schools/stations that do stuff like this? Pat, is that a possible future feature of d3football.com... a list of/links to streams across the country that are happening?

Pat Coleman

We pretty much cover that in the Scoreboard.

We have a new Fox Sports Channel on our cable system and they aired UWW-UWO volleyball.  Why not put on some football?

Pat Coleman

That channel has. The WIAC has several sports on its local Fox Sports regional network and if what you have is Fox College Sports' central region feed, then you should occasionally see some WIAC football.

Pat, thanks for the heads up.  It is a new channel for us and I will look for the football.

Any chance the Fox regional will pick up a Wisconsin team in the playoffs?

Comcast in Md.  actually listed UWEC-SJU on a Fox regional here on opening weekend, so I signed up and ... got something like the Wake Forest Coaches' Corner.

A couple of years ago, the Albany cable station had RPI-SJU playoff on a webcast, not bad.

If not, I say we burn the place.

Anybody know where a brother can go to see Amherst-Williams, Ithaca-Cortland, R-MC/H-SC or any other rivalry game this weekend? I understand some are available on DirecTV and/or closed circuit alumni parties in bars.

Saturday is a personal special occasion for me, and I might not be able to see any football at all, but I'd love to drop in on an alumni party.

I think my wife is taking me to Baltimore.

Thoughts/recommendations? Are these things invitation-only, or do you just assume no one would care?

I know R-MC/H-SC pretty much centers on going to the game. Maybe Monon Bell or one of these other ones has a way for me to catch it, either on TV or streaming. Or I could order my Monon Bell DVD :)

Speaking of which, any video directors or any superfans that tape the games off cable access ... I am looking for tape of likely playoff teams that I have not seen (I have UWW, Central contacts and a UMHB-HSU DVD), especially their biggest games. E-mail me at Keith@d3football.com if you can point me in the right direction or better.

word on the street is that Time Warner Albany will be broadcasting the RPI/Union Shoe's game live this weekend. Probably no satellite feed but if you know anyone around those parts you could get a tape of playoff bound Union.

retagent

Keith - I didn't see that you got any answers, and maybe it's too late but the Monon Bell game is on UHD on my HD package on DirecTV. The Williams/Amherst game is also on a regional Fox Sports Net Channel (623 on DirecTV)

K-Mack

Thanks.

Frank U. told me how to catch the Amherst-Williams game in my local area. Unfortunately, I was out of town with the wife celebrating my 30th ... somehow not at a football game.

I have yet to watch my UMHB-HSU DVD anyway, but I will probably do it tonight or tomorrow.
