Pat - Any chance that coverage of the playoffs would be expanded?  CSTV or local Fox stations perhaps?

Don't expect anything from CSTV.  They have gone "Big Time".
National Champions - 13: 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2015, 2017

I really enjoyed ESPN's "Hidden Video" during halftime of Thursday Night games. In fact, they featured a clip of Alfred's Jesse "Mr. Everything" Raynor running, punting, kicking, breaking up passes, etc. He did everything but exterminate all of those ugly moths hovering around Merrill Field's stadium lights!

Anyone know what ever happened to "Hidden Video"? Don't recall seeing it in a couple of seasons at least.

Real reason I enjoyed "Hidden Video" was that it was a chance for small colleges to get some national TV exposure.  :o
On Saxon Warriors! On to Victory!
...Fight, fight for Alfred, A-L-F, R-E-D!

If Navy game reruns and ultimate frisbee are "big time" then I would think D3 playoffs would be a big step up.

that was great.  I was actually on it twice (not because of anything I did) and once was an IC/Alfred game that invovled some sort of funky pass that was caught by the quarterback.

Jonny Utah,

I too, remember the "Hidden Video" segment on that network. However, the 2-3 minute highlights also did some damage to the perception of non-division 1 college football. Too often, the voiceover included everything from disparaging
comments about the quality of play to lampooning the names of the schools themselves. In terms of more TV exposure, that's a negative, not a positive.
I believe all of us on this board who would like to see real D3 football seen on any channel, should thank Pat Coleman and the crew here at d3football.com
It's safe to say there would be no D3 Playoff Preview show without their efforts.

We'll likely have many football games on streaming video to choose from.

On that topic:

D3Cast is pleased to announce the introduction of two new single-game webcast packages for schools (where D3Cast handles everything) -- see more at http://www.d3cast.com/sports.

These packages are mainly intended for schools in the Northeast, but if you're elsewhere and interested, contact us and we'll see what we can put together for you.

Now if only ESPN U would get real live games from DIII that weren't just the championship game.

I've got an Idea, every saturday they do a game from D-1A, D-1AA, D2, and D-3. One Each...

Yeah, plus they were usually pretty nutty clips.

I think we nicknamed a Macon guy ESPY after he got run over by a W&J tailback on hidden video. It was after I played there, and I remember the clip vividly, but not which game necessarily.

But I have noticed that it just went away. I liked it, I know a lot of people did ... my guess is that they found it to be more trouble than it was worth, collecting and cutting all those extra clips when they could just re-run ABC's crystal-clear highlights another 3-4 times.

Part of me thinks 90 seconds to review II, III and NAIA on Game Day would make much more sense than Mark May talking about why Baylor and Rutgers would be a hell of a Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl ... but maybe the rest of the population has no appetite whatsoever for divisions besides I-A.

Of course, that's what made Hidden Video work, you didn't have to know crap about Ithaca-SJF to enjoy a pass tipping off a guy's knee and into a slanting receiver's hands for a game-changing TD (or whatever it was)

Mr. Downtown

Very soon UW-Oshkosh will be streamming many athletic events (outside of just football and basketball) that has the possiblities of being upgraded to an HD signal (we are going high-tech here).

Also, as I am the TTV Sports Director, I was told by our SID that we would be the first school ever to have a LIVE broadcast of some sports (Wrestling and Track and Field are the big two). Was wondering if that's true or not.

I noticed a lot of people seem to be from the northeast area of the country. It's nice to know our University currently is the leading source on D-III student telecasts in the midwest. Trust me, with the work I've put into it, it better be :)
