So, will either semifinal game be on TV the weekend - or perhaps streamed on the internet?

streamed by ncaasports.com in conjunction with d3football.com.   details will no doubt be posted on the site later this week.

Pat Coleman

Actually ... not in conjunction with D3football.com. They backed off on Tuesday afer agreeing last Friday.  :-\

Pat - Who backed off - NCAA?  Will either game be available on TV or online?

Pat Coleman

The NCAA doesn't want us doing a neutral commentary on the game. They'll be using the local TV broadcasts of each game.

Feel free to load us up and mute the volume on the video. :)

That bites!

I wonder if perhaps some local entities sqwaked to the NCAA and that caused the NCAA to back off, just speculating.

That really sucks - sorry to hear that, Pat, and sorry for spreading false information.

Pat Coleman

That's OK -- you got the information from us after we got it from the NCAA. We all figured it was reliable.

Not surprisingly, the NCAA is a bunch of control freaks.

PA_wesleyfan

They(NCAA) are probably thinking up ways to control this site as we speak.   :(

Can't let them D3 boys  get to big ;) Keep up the good  fight Pat

Wow,
That's news to me.

What exactly would be the advantage to using the local broadcasts over a neutral one?

Commercial and organizational tie-ins that local televisions stations have with the NCAA to increase local viewership thru the local TV stations.

3000 local TV stations use their lobbyists in Indianapolis to get this local contract for the affiliates in the Whitewater and the greater Alliance TV markets?

Sorry -- meant to e-mail you as you were offline when I posted this last night. Guess this isn't the way for the lead analyst to find out.  :-\

old ends

There may be cable networks that D3 could hook up with some where down the road. I know that there is an up front cost, but they can be waived through future ad revenue. Keep networking and try stay true to your dream. Please try not to look like a Big 10 network, that no one can see.

I know you have a million things on your plate this time of year, I hope it didn't sound like I was overreacting.

I guess I was initially disappointed, but we've been broadcasting playoff games since before they were videocast and we'd want to be there anyway, so it's not like it's suddenly a wasted trip or anything.

Just seems to me like a loss to the viewers. You'd figure the home audience tuning in would be depleted by the people actually at the game, so even the road crew would be a more logical choice, if not a neutral one.

But hey, you can pick whichever audio feed you like. And I won't knock the home broadcasters, we're all there for the same reason --- to give it up for Division III football.

I completely didn't take it that way ...
