Was there with the Stealth clan and a few other families after a long TDY in August. Couple of things. The property is huge and really clean. The people who work on the property are top shelf. The food was americanized but pretty decent on the property itself. In Playa Del Carmen try the Blue Lobster. Unbeleivable. Don't get talked into group tours. They are a rip off. Find the places you want to go and get a taxi to and from. Example; We all went to Hex-Ha, it's a water theme park type, and it cost us each about $90 USD. Come to find out we could have gotten there/back and in for about $60 USD. Anyway downtown Carmen Del Playa is a big tourist shopping center. First thing you see is a McDonalds.   Not really that great of deals but fun to haggle a bit. The trip from the airport is about 1 hour, Snorkeling is decent on the beach off of the property but if you can go to Turtle beach, amazing. Enjoy the pool and pool side bars as I remember

Made it home from work to catch the second half.  What a game.  I will saving my gloating for another board. 

I know you have been to Mexico many times, I am taking my wife to the Riv Maya after thanksgiving for a week.  Have you been there?  If so any advice?

All the information is much apprecaited.  The pool and pool side bars will be getting their workout between the two of us.  I will take your advice on the tour groups.  I am hoping to enjoy many cigars and pick up a ton of sun for my untanned half Iowan/Chicagoan rear end.

I read the whole exchange between you and Jack Parkman and you can backpedal all you want but the threat was there. I read this board for a long time before I logged on and made a post and from what I have read the only thing you've done is embarrass yourself, your son, Redlands and the SCIAC, and you achieved exactly what you wanted -- to make yourself the center of all attention.

I've shared enough PM's with OxyBob to say that that is EXACTLY why he gave dawg III a hard time.  Snoop posts on other boards and sites with some of the same reaction.    Snoop always has an excuse for his actions.  He has asked me for advice on posting and I have tried to give him good advice.  It would last for a short time and then revert.  I think others also tried to help him.  He should not post at all because he just doesn't "get it", and now we have lost OB as a result.   Many of his smites come from the MIAC board and not just OxyBob.

GF......  I am not making any excuses, I did nothing wrong.  OB did not leave because of me.  You put yourself up on a pedestal, yet, you have thrown your share of barbs that were unwarranted, and in fact you eventually deleted them.

Well, it looks like the Willamette Bearcats prevailed over the UPS Loggers 49-27 in Salem.  Willamette plays Lewis & Clark next week so my thinking is that any hope for a Bearkitty stumble has pretty much flown out the window . . .

If it were just snoop and OB that this was about, I might've been willing to let it go. But the consistent beating of dead horses in several directions by OB couldn't go unchallenged. If he couldn't deal with me challenging him on the subject, then that's unfortunate. But at some point, after umpteenth post, I have to say something. I have a duty to moderate ax-grinding by all posters, not just the unpopular ones.
