Browneagle64,
Thanks for the invite for a cup of tea and crumpets.  Hopefully we can find 22 guys to suit up on Saturday and want to make the long road trip to Southern Cal.  Being the gracious host, we certainly hope you keep the score down and let us leave town with a little respect.  It's a big deal for us to come to the big city and get to play in the same sand box with all you city slickers.  As you know us small town boys just marvel at you big city boys.  Please take it easy on us!
LEAVE NO DOUBT

I hope our boys get to leave there with a little lung capacity.

How's the air now?

You are welcome Mr. Dub C 64.

As a matter of fact, word has it that after the game, all Linfield players will be invited to join the Tigers at Disneyland for the post- Oxy victory celebration.
At that point, I will make sure to buy all 22 of your guys (that will suit on saturday) 11 churros from the Vendors.
Then you can have your boys share the darn expensive treat by taking only several licks and passing it onto their next teammate in line. (as my Uncle George Lopez would say, jk by the way) ;D

As MCat pointed, all reports show that So.Cal should have a beautiful Sky this afternoon. Therefore, please take advantage of the day prior/ morning to the game in visiting tons of places (i.e. the beaches Venice, Malibu, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Downtown L.A., Pasadena et al.) Hope you guys enjoy your stay here as well.

LaVerne Free Saftey, Tyler Cantu, is Twittering and he's ticked they lost to an inferior Whitworth team and he's ready for Willamette.

I'm guessing he's not an English major.

MCat made me look at the roster and I found it interesting LaVerne has two players from Martin Luther King, Jr. High School...one in Riverfside, CA and the other in Hong Kong!

Well . . . confidence is a good thing.  I guess we were only up by two touchdowns at halftime last year. ::)

Good article today in the local paper about Redlands' win over East Texas Baptist, which only managed 75 yards total offense against the Bulldogs. Several canned, banal quotes from head coach Mike Maynard, QB Dan Selway, and DB Mike Nicolini filled out the story nicely.

Redlands is at Whitworth this Saturday.

At least he got a solo tackle early in the 4th Quarter, his total for the day, after a 22 yard pass reception by the Pirates.  :)

Items in one of the Inland Empire newspapers about Pomona and Claremont. In talking about the Sagehens' 20-14 overtime win at Puget Sound (P-P's first season opening win since 2003), Pomona head coach Roger Caron was still playing the "they didn't respect us" card. Claremont head coach Rick Candaele was much more upbeat while speaking about the Stags' 22-7 road victory over Lewis & Clark.

The teams switch opponents this week: Claremont hosts Puget Sound on Saturday at noon, and across the street Pomona is home to Lewis & Clark at 1:00 p.m.

Real questions...
does not Claremont share that football stadium with one of the other schools?

Does Pomona have their own stadium?

Do any Tiger people want to rally with Wildcats that are migrating south (they promise to leave) and plan on taking in some of the PP/L&C as well as some of the CM/UPS game before a nap and night-cap thriller?
