Where do we do game week predictions?

Actually, last year you predicted that Oxy would "upset" Redlands:
QuotePat's take: No. 18 Redlands. The Bulldogs will need a better performance from Steve Smith, who completed 13 of 24 passes for 156 yards and was picked off twice in his first start in relief of Dan Selway. Selway is out with a broken foot. Occidental is a few steps up from La Verne. The Tigers have had three weeks to game-plan, coming off a bye and a 38-0 blanking of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.

I know you don't usually do game week predictions, but doesn't Around the Nation do them sometimes?  Mostly I was referring to Kickoff.  Also I'm sure being a player during the time those predictions were made caused a bit of a difference in possibly creating fuzzy memories for me.  I mean which do you remember better as a player, the prediction that says you're going to win, or the one that says you're going to lose and shows up on the locker room board?   ;)

Mostly I was just bringing it up as food for thought, and with a hope that OxyBob would look up every prediction ever made regarding Occidental College on D3football.com, the LA Times archives, LexisNexis, and the Oxy Weekly student newspaper.   ;D

It appears that Selway is healthy. The local Redlands newspaper wrote this about him on Monday:

QuoteFinally, over at the University of Redlands, the Bulldogs are happy to have quarterback Dan Selway and wide receiver Brian Putman back and are off to a 2-0 start. Their biggest games will be at Occidental and at Cal Lutheran later this season, but with the offensive talent they have, Redlands should be ready for a little payback.

Against Whitworth this past Saturday, Selway was 24 of 37 passing for 255 yards, 2 TDs, and 2 INTs, and he rushed for 28 yards and TD. Sounds like his foot is OK.

Just marked the Occidental - Redlands in Eagle Rock game on my calendar.
it should be another great game between two well coached SCIAC teams

Redlands seniors become the third straight graduating class to have never beaten Oxy!

OxyBob

There is nothing I can say that can or will change that, even though I was a part of the past 4 OXY/ Redlands games. However I can speak to this years OXY and Redlands match up.... But hey thanks for the reminder OxyBob, your reputation as a historical SCIAC analyst remains intact...

Nihon- I think you are referring to the Kickoff productions that D3 publishes before each season, I know the past two years they have said that Redlands would go undefeated in SCIAC play...

As for Selway one could only hope, he has been injured the past 4 years, but this year he didn't play basketball and focused on training and conditioning, hopefully he can stay healthy, I know without him the Bulldogs are not as big of an offense threat...
It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up.

Oxy's defense will be very good this year, not sure about the best in the West though. They will have at least one loss in the SCIAC this year for sure.

I agree with RFB. And that loss will be to Redlands. ~ Go Bulldogs!

Thank you for the nice welcome folks. I didn't go to Redlands, but my Mom got her Master's in Education there so I do have some Bulldog blood. I post over on my alma mater's board (San Jose State) as well, but things can get pretty testy for some unknown reason. I've been following Redlands athletics since the late 90's and just happened to find this board last night while surfing the D3 site. And I think it's great. *I love D3 athletics because the athletes and fans do it for the love of the game. Thank's again everybody!   ;D

D.O.C.: Why'd you have to bring that nightmare up? I came over here to get away from all that mess. The Spartans board on scout.com has been all doom and gloom ever since. Of course we were going to lose, but no one thought it would be that bad. The last time we played, the Trojans won by 10 points or so. *I'm looking forward to going to the Redlands volleyball game in the afternoon, followed by their football game on Oct. 3rd. It should be a great double header of sorts.

Welcome to the board Phil.  Never mind Dens post he probably hit the wrong keys as he usually posts while riding his surf board.  +K from the Northwest.
