SCIAC FAN    Your fixation on my son is starting to scare me.

Its sad that you have to bad mouth someone to make yourself feel better.

ps   There are 9 or 10 kids on that crapy team that have D1 scholarships starting in January.  And I did not bring the issue up.

Searching for a comeback. I got one and it's one I can always go back to. Redlands won 3/4 against the Tigers when I was there.

Redlands actually beat Oxy? Whew, my long-term memory is failing me.

A few years ago I bought a new puppy, who I of course named Tiger. I like to bring him to football games with me, especially the Oxy-Redlands game. When the UR-OC game ends and Oxy wins, Tiger runs in circles, stands on his rear legs and does a back flip. When one of my friends saw Tiger do this after Oxy's 27-24 overtime win last week, he asked me, "What does Tiger do when Redlands wins?" I replied, "I don't know, he's only 6 years old."

Nihon Tiger

Haha hilarious OB.

QuoteI forgot to mention that The Who leads Redlands 19-18 in head to head wins.

Didn't the Who used to be an NAIA school?  Didn't they give out scholarships?  Any all-time record that includes Cal-Lu's scholarship teams shouldn't count if you ask me.

Though I will agree with Kingsman4 that beating Redlands at Ted Runner is fun.  I got to do it twice... and twice at Patterson field too...

Tiger Heart

New Poster Here.

Nihon Tiger,
I agree beating Redlands at the Runner and at Oxy twice each was so sweet.  Something the last three classes at Oxy will have gotten to cherish.  And many more to come I suppose..

Read the current front page...
Why does the story keep repeating about how Redlands was unlucky by having a penalty on their "game winning touchdown"?  Stop making excuses to build up sentiment for Redlands.  They LOST that game because the TIGERS BEAT them.  The Tigers didn't have a scoreless half and overtime like Redlands did after the first half.  Maybe if they had pulled themselves together to put one in or block for their kicker, they'd have claimed their first W over Oxy in 6 years.  But the Oxy D shut them out in the second half and in overtime.  Oxy showed what sets them apart from every team in this league, HEART.  Oxy plays with it because they have coaches who coach with it.  That is why and how Oxy wins with what others call lesser talent.  Why doesn't the rest of the league start playing with some?  We could be a force to be reconded with as a league if any other team played with half the heart of the Tigers.
Thank you to Coach Widolf for instilling that HEART into all of us Tigers.  It'll stay with us well past our playing days.

Tiger Heart . . .

Welcome to the board . . . nice opening post . . . spot on . . . but you do realize it was "Tiger Heart" that let Oxy nab the win right? Don't begrudge Redlands the press . . . what we have to focus on is winning out, hoping that the SCIAC gets two bids . . . and the NWC does as well so we don't have to open in a SCIAC v. SCIAC first rounder!

RFB

Wow....cocky bunch of new Ox football alumni. To the victors go the spoils I guess. Not too sure calling the rest of the conference heartless would be the way to go on a first post but what do I know. I guess for now I'll keep hiring Oxy grads for the mailroom.

Sabretooth Tiger

Now, now RFB . . . tough damn loss for the Dawgs . . . I hope that both of our teams win out, go the dance, and that we don't have to see each other in round one . . . damn exciting game to hear at the end, I'll confess that I got the half time score and didn't give us much of a chance. Could have knocked me over with a feather when I turned on the audio just a couple minutes shy of regulation.

I feel bad for Whittier . . . I expect that they're walking into a buzz saw this week.

Mailroom?  You don't really want to go there do you?

RFB

Just trying to keep the young bucks in check. Okay, the mailroom was a little insensitive. How about the loading dock? Better? My office is in Pasadena. I'm sure there are plenty out of work Oxy grads that I could accommodate.

Sabretooth Tiger

You're driving from Hermosa to Pasadena every day??  Where in Pasadena?

And sure, I'll take loading dock over mail room . . . more exercise.

RFB

Yep...Hermosa to Pasadena everyday. 40+ hours a month on LA's finest freeways. It's worth it though. I worked my tail off for over ten years to be able to land the position I'm in now. My company kicks ass in our industry too.

ST...I sent you a pm but not sure if it went through from the mobile device. My office is at foothill & sierra made villa. Just about in Arcadia.

Best Buy, El Torrito, Bed Bath and Beyond, PetSmart?????  There are soooo many choices and those are just on the northeast corner!
Go Cats!

Sabretooth Tiger

Maybe we should have a Bulldog, Wildcat, Tiger beer/margarita conference at ET one of these afternoons.

RFB

Friday happy hour? Where do I sign? It will have to wait a few weeks for me to attend as I'll be traveling back and forth to the great resort city of Toledo, OH for a project.
